Dr No: 4/5

Watching some Bond films today from my Blu-Ray Set so I thought I'd start with the beginning. It's a great start to a grand legacy. It can be quite full of nothingness at times with scenes that drag on and feel pointless but it's a great fun film regardless.

From Russia With Love: 4.5/5

Pure classic Bond. Nuff' said.

Monsters Inc.
Still one of the best Pixar movies.

Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father

8/10

After Year One...this is more like it. MUCH better. They made a few changes and swapped a handful of scenes around for story/pacing purposes but I think the changes work. Its still VERY faithful. More than anything it was smart to cover TDKR in two films instead of one.
I LOVE the music in this. It has a very 80's sound and fits the story perfectly. Is the kind of music I always imagined the story would have.

I think Weller delivers. His voices has a coldness to it that fits where the inner monologue was in the comic. The way batman "spoke" in those was very clinical and methodical. there was only one line reading that felt off to me but everything else was good. Loved his voice work when Batman went down to the cave after the first beating by the mutant leader. most of the voice acting is on point.

the film "gets" Millers brand of humor. The animators did a good job translating the panels into motion. the action sequences really come alive.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower -- funny, touching, beautifully shot and acted. The best film of the year so far after 'Beasts of the Southern Wild.'

Looper -- inventive, exciting, great acting by Willis, JGL, and the kid who plays Blunt's son.

The Avengers.

I forgot just how much fun the movie is.
