But what I'm saying is Raimi's Spider-Man was never intended to be a trilogy.

The beginning, middle and end thing makes sense. But I'd still like it if a major villain like the Green Goblin got some development as Norman Osborn before they introduce the Green Goblin. If Webb can pull off introducing Norman and having him turn into the Green Goblin in one movie, wicked. I'd like that too. :)

intended or not, he set it up as a "goblin trilogy"

I'd love it if, at the end of TASM, there was a scene where Van Adder walks into an office. All the lights are off and it's night out. The only light is that given off by the tv. The reports on the tv are all about Spider-Man and his recent defeat of the Lizard. We see a silhouette on a couch watching the reports. Van Adder asks, "What would you like me to do, sir?" the silhouette responds with, "Find the boy and bring him to me. Use whatever means necessary, but make sure he's alive."

Then in TASM 2, whoever the villain is could be working for Norman and then a similar scene could occur where Van Adder, or whoever walks in and says, "He failed, sir." then Norman, who could be examining a bottle of a new serum he has created could say, "I know this. It's time for me to take matters into my own hands." Then credits could roll.

I think just two small scenes like that would be fantastic and would set up Norman as the third villain perfectly. Have TASM3 start out with Peter meeting Norman through Harry and voila, it's perfect. I also like the angle of the audience knowing what Norman is all about but Peter having no idea.

I'd really rather not see Harry full-fledged in the second film. Maybe lean toward the 616 angle and have him as Gwen's friend in college, making brief appearances where he shows total disdain for Parker until the third act, where they find some common ground and become friends to set up the third film.

Jury's still out in my mind on the reappearance of the Goblins.
I'd perfer to see Harry introduced in the second film. The idea of having him be friends with Gwen (and Flash) like in the comics definitely could work and by the 2nd act he could warm up to Peter, though, it doesn't need to be added in. Either way, I want to see Harry in the sequel.

A Goblin trilogy is not the same as making a set of movies that were only meant to be a trilogy.

A Goblin trilogy means that the Goblin storyline would end in the 3rd one, with the 4th one having a new villain and possibly no further mention of the Goblins.

... last i checked his idea of Spidey 4 had nothing to do with goblins... norman and harry were dead... and the villain was vulture and vulturess...

She should slip on a bar of soap off the top of a building, and Peter will hunt down the bastard janitor that left it there.

I could have seen a symbiote trilogy with Venom appearing and then after awhile having Carnage make an appearance.

I voted for 3, just like in the comics. I would like it if Norman was fully developed in the second before becoming the Goblin, and that the audience even kind of likes him, until he turns into Gobby. Also I think it would be alot more emotional and heart-wrenching as an audience member to watch if Gwen doesn't die until the third one.

If they go this way though they would have to do a fourth, as I don't want Gwen's death to be in the middle of a movie, I want the movie to end with Parker croached over her, swearing revenge on the Goblin, if they have the balls to do that. (As i norm you always to end a movie so it comes full circle...ie. happy. so for them to do this would be completely out of the balls field and i think would work in their favour as no one would be expecting it.)

He should die in 2nd movie like in comics but it isn't necessary that the killer is Green Goblin.

^^ Well, the Green Goblin IS Spidey's greatest Villain for a number reasons with killing Gwen being #1.

^ agreed, her death HAS to be by the hands of the Green Goblin. Not just because its iconic, but because Peter deals with one of his largest lessons he's learnt in life, a big part of that was to do with Norman being Green Goblin, and Goblin killing Gwen. It just wouldnt work if its not him imo.

I think the people who wamt Gwen to live past the 2nd film kind of overestimate her actual time in the comics. In ASM's 50 year publication history, Gwen appeared for a mere 6 and 1/2 of those years, which in continuity probably amounted to about 1-2 years tops that Peter actually knew her. While Gwen's role is an absolutely essentialy and pivotal component in Spider-Man lore, it is also relatively brief. I'd hate for Webb and Co. to spend too much time exploring Gwen's story that they forgoe the vast wealth of Spidey material to adapt that's never made it to the big screen.

Yeah I just noticed the thread title changed. If people don't know that Gwen Stacy dies then they probably shouldn't be in here. If the title was changed because die is a bad word then the police here really have become out of control.

i'm surprised they didn't got dragonball z style and rename the thread

'when and how should gwen stacy be taken to the NEXT DIMENSION'

ha, that actually reminded me of the tas episode 'turning point'

great ep by the by

I hope that I at least live to 80 before I [censored].

When and how should Gwen Stacy die?

In her sleep, due to old age when she is 90.

On a bridge so a (better written MJ) can bring some brightness into the sequels.

Yeah, I really have to agree with this.

What if the Lizard simply ate her?
