Not the Brooklyn bridge. It hasn't been used in any SM movies and Gwen's death should happen in daytime like in comics.
George Washington Bridge. And Gwen died at night: hence "The Night Gwen Stacy Died!" They just didn't have the kind of printing at the time that allowed them to portray a dark, night sky.

I don't know why people want to see Green Goblin rushed into the sequel. I'd prefer to see Norman Osborn built up as a character with Gwen's inevitable death around midway into TASM3. Gobby gets away leaving Peter to grieve and possibly swear revenge leading into Osborn's possible death towards the end of the movie. This in turn would create the Harry Goblin arc for a future installment. A little foreshadowing if you will.

This doesn't have to follow The Dark Knight with The Joker for example. There's a strong possibility that Lex Luthor is going to appear in a possible sequel to Man of Steel though but I won't go there. Heck if Gwen does die in TASM3 the movie will still make it's money regardless.

Gwen needs to die in ASM3.

Osborn needs to be introduced first (ASM2), then alot of time to become GG, learn learn Pete's Spider-Man and then kill Gwen.

MJ needs to be introduced in ASM2 via Annie watson/May hooking Peter up.

We need a villan we haven't seen before in ASM2 (Scorpion or Vulture) so we'll get character developement for Osborn and Harry, before GG beomes the villan.

I have a feeling that Osborn is already close to becoming Green Goblin.

Osborn was so close to dying that Ratha wouldn't even let Connors put off human testing for another week. Yet he's going to survive the time gap between the first two movies and the second movie and the time gap between the second and third movie? He's starting to become the boy who cried "terminally ill." :hehe:

Yea.. I'm fairly sure that if it's Norman Osborn in the cell in the post-credits scene, he already took the green goblin serum.

Gwen's death should be in #3. Give us a fresh new villain for the sequel with Norman lurking in the background. The third one would be all Goblin, playing mind games with Peter before Gwen's death.

I don't understand the notion that the trilogy can't end with Gwen's death. Why not? Not everything in life has a happy ending. If pulled off correctly ASM 3 can have one of the most powerful endings in a SH film.

What does Gwen dying in ASM2 = happy ending? I think it will be interesting to explore Peter in the aftermath of her death. ASM3 could be about him becoming a stronger, more responsible and mature character in the wake of this. He's still a kid right now. That could be the catalyst to help him grow up and really change his outlook as a hero re-emphasize the responsibility he must exhibit with his great power

But I think you need to build up Norman as the cold, desperate man that he is. We also need to see Peter grow into his Spidey role and gain confidence as a hero. Besides, he lost Uncle Ben and Captain Stacey in ASM, having him lose Gwen in ASM 2 is too quick I think. Let's see him grow into his role as a hero, get cocky and sure of himself that way when Gwen's death occurs in ASM3 it will be stunning because you become accustomed to Peter saving the day. When he can't save his own girlfriend it would come as a shock to the GA.

There wasn't a fight on the bridge in TASM, just an encounter. The Lizard ran away.

Exactly. It was more of a rescue scene. Spidey and Lizard didn't engage in fisticuffs.

I'm pretty much opposed to them killing Gwen of in this series and while they probably will kill her off, I still don't want to see Mary Jane in this series, ever.

And if they do kill Gwen, please don't do it the way it was done in the comics. I doubt people will be able to suspend their disbelief when a guy who's clearly smart and has an affinity for science to not remember Netwon's Laws of Motion.

How else was he supposed to try and save Gwen?

Parker had no other choice but use a webbing line before she hit the water.

Did any change their position on this since last year?

I keep going back and forth between Gwen dying in ASM2 and her dying in ASM3.

Doing the death for the second movie would be like the Empire Strikes Back with Parker finding redemption in the third movie. And it will give immediate weight to the broken promise to Captain Stacy.
you just described the very reason she needs to die in 2. Peter needs to learn still how important his alter ego identity is to be kept secret. And he needs to learn that from gwens death

We need the great Emma Stone as Gwen for three films.Granted I am biased since I never liked the character of Mary Jane.Plus they might not even have the green Goblin
till the third film.Hell I would be happy not to see Mary Jane In this trilogy but If they do have her Introduce her In film 2 and end film 3 with her being there for Peter.

If we do have to have Mary Jane In trilogy make her the party girl not the reconned
version from the 1980's.The party girl version was tolerable.

Jump off the bridge while using his webs to repell himself downward as fast as he could and catch Gwen before she fell or try to create a large web towards the bottom of the bridge.

Part of the tragedy of gwens death is peter screwing up... It's one of the big reasons he blames himself for it (the other of course being that the goblin found out bid identity)

Plus they've already shown with the kid in the car and Gwen that he knows how to web someone properly while they are falling. The kid he makes it big enough to where the impact would hit multiple spots in the body thus lessening the impact on his spine and with Gwen I believe it was basically the same thing. You can't kill her with the webbing breaking her neck, there are million different ways Green Goblin can kill her and still have it be partially Peter's fault. Those are the most important elements to the death. Green Goblin does it and its somewhat Peter's fault, it can be changed.

I don't want to see her die, I loved their relationship and chemistry so thats going to make the death already very impactful. I don't want to see it in ASM2 because I'm sick of the whole oh we gotta make it dark like Empire Strikes Back and honestly I've only seen it work once with TDK. I'd say use ASM2 to build up their togetherness and then kill her in the beginning of 3. Finish off the trilogy with the Green Goblin as the villain.

I don't think Peter had the time the think all that through and execute it.

And it's very likely he panicked when GG dropped Gwen. I know most teenagers would panic if they saw their first love falling to their death, no matter how smart they are.

Peter was also suffering from an undisclosed illness during ASM#121, so that hampered him. And Gwen wasn't dropped as most believe, she was knocked off the edge by the explosion from a pumpkin bomb, so it's not like he could anticipate her fall.
