The Dark Knight When did this become a trilogy

An ogf topic to your off topic.

I think what turn a lot of people off was that it seems like the antics of kirk (climbing mountains, beating the mind controls, Questioning "god") in the movie was feeding off Shatner's huge ego.

That part necessary due to Paramount not paying for what Shatner had in mind instead. Too costly supposedly.

and then they should give it to JJ Abrams or Ridley Scott or David Fincher.

Great choice Fincher as a Batman director, I like se7en so that would be great inspire to Batman movie, if that makes sense.

I just don't buy the argument that only 3 good movies can be made in any film series and thats it.

I have seen films series where even the first or 2nd movie sucked.

If they do faulter, its not because the public has lost interest, but its usually the studio to blame.

If the studio makes a committment to make and retain a strong film series then I believe it can continue to crank out solid movies in terms of quality and box office for years.

A perfect example is the Harry Potter series.

Certainly a 68 year old comic book character that continues to be as popular as Batman with countless classic stories from comics, graphic novels, and actual novels, can have much more than 3 great movies made if the studio stays as committed to it as it during BB.

Of course, that is the key isn't it?

I agree with you even James Bond series going on for 40 something years with 20 official films most recently CR's box office hit shows that people still love watching 007 movies even tho we are in 21st century.

Also studios showing commitment is important otherwise we many experience films like Batman Forever, B&R and of course Catwoman.

I think it would be cool if another director comes in after the Batman movie in 2011. He could do another trilogy, this one where Batman is a little bit older and such. If done right, there could be two trilogies. You guys forgot about Lethal Weapon 4. I think there could be 4-6 Spiderman and Batman movies, along with 6 Superman movies if done right.

haven't seen it, but from what I hear Fincher'd be perfect for Batman

Basically, I just want somebody who KNOW'S WHAT THEY'RE DOING. To take over. Not a Ratner or a Story.

What kind of movies has Fincher done? I know he sounds familiar, but I don't know why.

Fincher was offered BB and declined. :csad:

WBs commitment towards the Harry Potter movies seems to point to a favorable sign towards their committment on Batman.

Ronny!! Rent this movie! Its only 2 hours.

I've seen panic room, it was alright. I heard seven was good, I've only seen part. Alien 3 is the only one I have't seen.

Forget Panic room and Alien 3. Se7en is his masterpiece along with Fight Club.

Would you agree that Se7en could have been adapted easily (with some modifications of course) into a Batman movie?

A dark, definitely no for kids, Batman movie.

I borrowed Fight club from a friend, but the DVD was messed up, I only got to one of the fights in the dark room whatever that place was.

WB could do it but it won't happen we wouldn't wanna upset "soccer moms"
now eh?

I agree should hapen but a man can only dream...

You could have a Batman movie that is rated R. Daredevil the first version wasn't for kids, and then came the Rated R version. Besides, Batman Begins could have been Rated R with just a few more edgy scenes and a few f words.

That version was hardly R. The only reason it was was because Bullseye said "****." I really wish people would stop throwing so much praise at the DD director's cut. It really wasn't very good.

You should listen to the man, Ronny. *firm nod*

Seriously, Se7en is beyond awesome, if you've gthe stomach for it. Mmm, I haven't watched it in a while.

Daredevil needs a ****ing reboot now

There is no reason those movies aren't as good as Batman Begins is (or just that movie, but it would have had sequels if it where good)

Hey, I just notcied you want commidor norrington for Dent?

if this is true, I think he would be fantastic also

Its hard to make Batman into a Bond-like trilogy because you only have so many villains you can use. The fanboys don't mind seeing the same villains more than once, but I don't think the general public would really be up for it(except for maybe The Joker). There are also so many good villains, if they went Bond with it they'd end up doing a movie with Man-Bat eventually. Again, not something that would hold the general public's interest too well.

I've got a feeling that if the next two films do well, we'll at least get a fourth film. However I don't really see this franchise going for more than 5 or 6, at the most.

Ra's, Ducard, and Crane were in one movie. Next one will have two, with one of those in the third movie. Why not set up the third movie with a couple others, or have Batman put away one or two of the comic villains in the beginning of the third, while having them being in the next trilogy.

It is true - he'd rock! Doubt he'll get it though...but I like to support the underdog. :woot:
