When Geek became cool

I hate the stereotype of geek... But like all stereotypes, this is one that there are plenty out there in the world that fill it beautifully, especailly at my school. Sweaty, fat, bad social skills, elitist, and worst of all pathetic failures at life... Intelligence is not something I associate with these people

wow, i like how you guys paid attention to a simple mistake instead of what i was actually talking about. it's not like i said spider-man came out in 1997....you get negative 5 kudos.

I am a geek. I pay too much attention to details like that :csad:

BTW Batman and Robin came out in 1997 :oldrazz:

Oh, I'm sorry. You were talking about something? I must have found myself not caring. At all.

You get +5 whiny b*tch points.

if you didn't care you wouldn't have responded. you hypocrite stats have risen and you get a bonus, 100 "jerk" points. :cwink:

I didn't care about what you were saying, thus I didn't respond to it. You said so yourself. Go re-read your post.

100 "I don't know what the **** I'm talking about points."

Geek girls are hawt!
Velma
Tina Fey
Steph the geek
Daria
Fred from Angel
Gadget from Rescue Rangers
Topanga from Boy meets World

i normally do too but i'm doing like...3 things at once. my attention is being divided.

BTW Batman and Robin came out in 1997 :oldrazz:
hence why i said at the TURN of the century instead of late 90's, hehe. B&R was the low point of comic movies as far as i'm concerned.

In the past few years or more, was there ever one particular moment where being a geek was considered cool? When I was in school being a geek was looked down upon, especially if you were a black geek; but nowadays it's been embraced by pop culture, some people even try to get "geek cred".

It's a good thing, but I'm just curious as to when it all turned around.

I was made fun of in high school. Now I if someone says something I just tell them how much I make and they shut the hell up. Plus I lift a lot of weights. :cwink: which has nothing really to do with my point.

How is Tina Fey a geek? Because she wears glasses?

Yeah I don't consider scarface to be a geek. I consider her to be an idiot because only an idiot would turn Mean Girls into a movie.

Nerds can take over the world in a minute. Haven't you seen Live Free or Die Hard?

Everyone is a bit of a geek if their honest. Everyone has some sort of obssesion. I know girls with designer shoes in every colour organised from light to dark in her closet.

If you wear glasses, you are a geek. Plain and simple. Peter Griffin is the only exception.
