After reviewing comingsoon.net’s movie release schedule for 2007, I have concluded that the best release date for Wonder Woman would be:

or sometime in September 2007

My Dream Schedule:
Cast Auditions: (2/3 months)
August 2006 – October 2006

Filming Dates: (5 months)
October 2006– February 2007

Filming Locations:
Morocco or Malta (Themyscira), Australia or New Zealand (Man’s World)

Post-Production: (7 months)
February 2007 – August 2007

I say 2008. To go along with the Iron Man! :D

Progression of this film is torturous. Spidey 3 is already filming and Wondie hasnt even been cast yet. It's a travesty of justice. We're lucky to see an 07 release.

i thought i voted here already?.... (or was that at the BT forums?)

anyway, i'll go out on a limb and say, 2008, either preceeds or follows Batman 2.

The sooner the better. I'm tired to waiting.

September 2007. It seems like the best possible release date IMO.

I said "don't bother" because it's being made by Joss Whedon. It's going to suck. His ideas are all ripped off, and he's a horrible dialogue writer (unless you're a 14-year-old girl).

I mean, his award winning "silent" episode of Buffy was obviously ripped off from G.I. Joe #21, the Snake Eyes "silent interlude" issue. For this he wins an award?

His contributions to cinema thus far? "Do you know what happens to a Toad when it is struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else." and Alien 3.

Yeah, sure. I don't want this guy directing a story about a woman who can go toe-to-toe with Superman... It's going to be some B.S. "empowerment" story, where he purposely reverses archetypes to get a reaction. WW will be a martial-arts superstar, and she'll whine about her personal life all the time.

And if she calls villains "big bads" I'll scream bloody murder.

Whedon sucks. His Wonder Woman will be an insult to the character and any viewers over the age of 16.

Zerocorpse i agree with ya joss whedon is stuffing around with the script and besides this is just me talking but id rather se a Green Lantern and Aquaman film before wonder woman

2009.

In 2005 WB made 2 comic book adaptations, they were BB and Constantine.
In 2006 we got V for Vendetta and soon SR will be released.
In 2007? They haven't even confirmed actress for WW!
In 2008? We will get BB2 and Flash, enough.
In 2009? Not bad, SR2 will be released only in July, so WW can arrive in May.

Late August/September is the worst choice for a Wonder Woman release, in my opinion. The box office goes through its deepest trough during those weeks. It's not a good time to release an event film.

Any film aiming for a summer 2007 release needs to be already shooting, or at least deep in pre-production and preparing to shoot soon, by this point. It's too late for WW to make a summer 2007 release date (unless Whedon and Warner's are a hell of a lot further down the development track than they've let on).

I'd like to see Wonder Woman released in late 2007 - either in November or December. That way WW would have the season to herself as the sole superhero event pic of the Holidays, rather than being just one of several superhero films lined up for summer 2008.

you got a point, but the problem with that is that she goes up against your typical Oscar contenders usually released at those times. even the moviegoers are set to expect films like those. wouldnta lone superhero film feel a little out of place?

November/December has two types of film - Oscar bait and event entertainment pics (some films - like Lord of the Rings - fit both categories). Harry Potter and Star Trek films, among others, have often been released during the Holidays. Moviegoers are accustomed to seeing some event films that are pure entertainment at that time of year. WW would fit the bill.

hmmm.... WW as an event film..... maybe it could work, but event films of late are usually films based on books (LOTR, Narnia) or has a sort of epic/ historical feel to it (Titanic). it could be something like Gladdiator but even that film was released in the summer. WW is a well known superhero and superhero movies by nature are released during the "fun" months--> summer.

Right on man...everything we've heard seems to me like he has no clue what he's doing.

You suck

I think Wonder Woman should be released when its done.

I think its crazy to start thinking about release dates and such when the script isnt even done.

I really don't care when it will be relased, as long as it is done right.

Until the script is ready we can only assume from what Whedon has said that it should be done soon. However if they do have the right actress for ww already on board maybe in late 2007. Which at this time sounds like maybe in 2008 or 2009.

Which doesn't make sense why Wizard would say summer of 2007 for a relase:confused:

Their movie news is always one or two steps behind, considering when new news is posted on the web, the update they have is a previous one that everyone knows.

Wonder Woman doesn't seem likely for an early 2007 release. Perhaps a late release or early 2008 at the most. Whedon has been said to be having difficulties writing the script, and has to continuously rewrite certain parts of it.

That's what I was thinking
