He shouldn't get in trouble for comments he said in privacy.

I'm just marvelling that apparently the comments were made as part of a sex tape he was recording with a woman. I don't claim to be an expert on such matters, but how the hell does that topic come up during said activity?

Since this is all about the sex tape being leaked, why are we only finding out about the comments now? Wouldn't the people who watched it know what he said and mention it online? Or was the tirade edited out?

If he said these things in public in a recent interview, absolutely fire him, but to hold it against him for something that happened almost a decade ago. Where does it end?

I just find it ironic they fired the guy who made the company what it was, but did nothing when Alberto Del Rio was a victim of a hate offense.

What difference would it being said in private matter to corporate sponsors or investors? WWE is a business with those type of concerns.

That's ADR's own fault though. If he hadn't assaulted the other guy, the other guy would have been fired, not him. No matter how much you are against racism, a physical response to verbal language is not okay, especially in the workplace of a major corporation. By doing that, he really put the WWE in a bad position.

He probably thinks about Brooke during sex, so that's how the discussion about her was brought up.

In all seriousness, just because someone says "the n word" doesn't automatically make them a racist. Same goes for other racist/homophobic/"offensive" terms. I don't know if Hogan is a racist, but that doesn't mean because he said some stupid **** in private that his whole legacy should be washed away.

Im sure we have all said things people would deem offensive to our friends/family or whatever that would get us in deep trouble with the PC police if they heard us saying it.

Most of us aren't a public face of a huge corporation. If I said something like that the reality is that most people wouldn't care because who the hell am I?

If I'm hanging out with my friend and I jokingly call him uhhh...its probably censored so i'll say "the F word" (homophobic slur), I could be labeled a homophobe even though im not. If Hogan publicly came out and said he hates black people I would understand removing him from all WWE related material. But until we hear the audio we won't know the context in what he's saying the racist slurs.

I don't think Hogan is a racist by the way, just something stupid he said privately. He's done business with The Rock ad other black wrestlers before so unless he's just a money hungry shill, which could be the case, I just don't see it.

Yeah but this was recorded 8 years ago when he wasn't the face of a public company so I doubt he was thinking of consequences.

It probably took a long time to find someone who could sit through a Hulk Hogan sex tape and report on its contents without killing himself first.

Oh, by the way, thanks for taking one for the team, Wheels.

Touche, guys.

I bet Dixie or Jeff Jarett would be dumb enough to hire Hogan again

Now that you're in the business, for some reason the first thought I had was that you meant wrestling manager, like Freddy Blassie, as opposed to your manager to your regular job. :funny:

Heh :hehe: I hate my regular job.

Well I don't think wwe are completely getting rid of Hogan's career since his last two dvds are still on the wwe network and you can search for Hulk Hogan stuff

Nor should they to be honest. You can't just erase someone from history. Especially someone who essentially helped build the brand. WWE did what they had to do, the right thing might I add, and fire him and take all current merchandise off their site.

I think this will just blow over within a week, Hogan may still be fired but I doubt he'll be blacklisted like I initially thought. He's not erased from the wwe network and willprobably still be in the 2K16 game but just not promoted much

Im sure you've never said anything in your privte life that someone would find offensive, right?

Nothing to the extent of being racist or homophobic. That's not even my point though. If you can't see why a public company as big as WWE wouldn't fire a star as big as Hulk Hogan for doing this then I don't even want to get into a debate about it with you.

He shouldn't be excused just because he said it privately, He still said it in such an angry racist way and so of course it would still affect the company because of who he is

That's true for most of us, even if not to the extent of what Hogan said. But again, that's missing the point. Even if it was said in private WWE still has a responsibility to sponsors and shareholders to disassociate themselves from it. Public or private makes no difference as far as that goes.

This is silly.

Hogan has come out and apologized for what he said. WWE saw/heard what he said and thought it was worthy of erasing him Benoit style. It's not like WWE is some overly PC organization that runs away from every little thing.

And people don't get to complain and whine about being called racist or homophobic when they're using racist and homophobic language. If you don't want people to think you're a bigot, then don't use bigoted and hateful language.
