Which Green Lantern should be used? - Part 2

i'd be down with any of those guys as Hal.

Aaron Paul and Jake Gyllenhaal are two other names that I'd be very happy with

If I'm WB I do whatever I can to distance this movie from the all-time train wreck that was GL-2011 movie.

John Stewart all the way.

John's getting a re-imagined origin soon in Secret Origins. That might give WB something of value with which to work. However, all of the Lanterns are tied to Hal Jordan, so there is only such much distance that can be given.

i will never be okay with a John Stewart vs Sinestro movie. If Sinestro is the villain, Hal has to be the hero.

That's basically like a movie that features Dick Grayson Batman vs The Joker

I'm almost certain that Hal will be the GL in Justice League. He'll be the main character in the solo film, with John in a prominent supporting role in the 2020 movie

Why can't we have both?

How about a buddy cop take on the superhero movie? Like a Lethal Weapon/Rush Hour/Bad Boys type?

Hal Jordan and John Stewart- intergalactic space cops.

COME ON!!! I'm serious. That would be shweeeet.

Because Green Lantern could be so much more than a buddy cop movie. Leave that to Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Idris may have a say in that though, and he wasnt too glowing about having to do green-screen wirework as Heimdall for Thor 2, especially after playing a straight drama role in Mandella.

Going off those comments I dont think he'd be too keen to do even more green-screen wirework, and in a skintight costume to boot. Unless of course, he was offered tons of $$$$, but I wouldnt want an actor to take a role just for money.

He's getting a lot of praise for his new show, besides he wasn't bad as Rhody.

But nowhere near as good as Cheadle was.

My opinion of course. Which is subjective.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this: I was always an advocate for Reynolds to return (even though I hated the movie), and there's still a small part of me that could see that potentially working.

I think Ryan Reynolds has a less than zero percent chance of playing Green Lantern again. Anyway he has Deadpool now so good for him.

Oh I'm aware it'll never happen, I just think it'd be ballsy on WBs part. They already invested hundreds of millions into that property, I get that it was awful but if they continued on id be marginally impressed. Would it be a good decision? Probably not, but it'd be something to talk about.

I'm probably the only person in the world to want this but I would love it if Kyle was the Green Lantern that was used for the movies.

See even if I wanted Reynolds to come back I just think that ship has sailed. The film was an embarrassing flop for Warner Brothers. If it made like like 350-400 million worldwide but was horrible I could see them taking the chance and retconning Reynolds GL into the Universe but it didn't and Reynolds is on a huge losing streak right now. It might be ballsy but there isn't any upside.

I think Reynolds is only back for Deadpool because Fox couldn't find anyone else to do the fast talking humor thing that character requires. Notice that Fox easily recast Gambit though because Kitsch starred in two massive bombs in one year and very few thought that he was irreplaceable. Warner Brothers sees Reynolds the way Fox sees Kitsch. A very replaceable element because his performance wasn't exactly beloved.

You're not the only one. Kyle Rayner is my favorite DC character, but his origin is tied to Hal. Without Hal being established in this particular continuity, that means WB would have to completely rewrite his origin. That idea makes me nervous, just as it would with John.

I completely agree, Hal or John should be used as the Green Lantern. Even if it's incredibly far-fetched, I would love to see a Green Lantern movie that focused on Kyle trying to rebuild the Corps.

Well. Of course it would be more than just a buddy cop movie. It would be a buddy cop movie..... In Space! :wow:

Morris Chestnut as John Stewart and as Hal Jordan how about Jake Gyllenhaal

full on space opera along the lines of Star Wars is what Green Lantern should be . Buddy cop movie is aiming too low. The first movie should basically be like Green Lantern First Flight with a bit more effort put into setting up a three part franchise.
