I think the worse shots of Hulk in The Incredible Hulk look better than the worse shots of him in Hulk. Thought Hulk's CG In TIH was more consistant overall and I prefer his design. There's some great stuff in Hulk, like the forementioned picture, but there are some pretty bad ones too, like his first scene, in the water, him ripping into the rock, mostly night stuff.

The only think I preferred about the Hulk CG over TIH CG was the skin textures (and possibly some animation/movement in certain areas.

Apart from that, TIH Hulk all the way for me. Certainly, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the design was more like how I'd prefer to see the Hulk on screen.

I hate the fact that the new version has no chest. Hulk should have pecs the size of a moose.

I'm so glad we're not getting another reboot...now we get a chance to see even mroe of this design. I like Leterrier's style of thinking when it comes to designs...because when I first heard about the reboot, I was hoping the Hulk would have the ripped veins all over, and it turned out absolutely beautiful.

^^^I think that's my favourite still of the Hulk to date, moviewise.

Although, if you want a perfect example of what Hulk is, you need look no further than when Hulk roars at the lightning after throwing the rock.

That's a classic Hulk moment right there.

Totally, it had me laughing in the theater. The Hulk throws a rock at God. Definitely classic.

Lol, good point.

To date, the cave scene is one of my favorite CGI scenes of all time. It's so beautifully put together.

They both resembles scenes from the movie, but they are actually promotional stills that have been altered and enhanced in Photoshop.

Regardless of this, I only used them as an example. My point was that Ang Lee's Hulk was a much lighter shade of green which had more of a cartoon feel to it. It perhaps suited that film as the film was a brighter film overall and used a lot of visual cues as reference to the comics, but did it make for a realistic Hulk? Not in my opinion.

One looks like an oversized, angry kid ...........the other looks like the Hulk - guess which :woot:

Incredible Hulk has the superior design, 2003 Hulk has the superior CGI.

I would argue against that. Both movies definitely had their shining moments. All in the eyes of the beholder, so instead I will say that both movies had really good cg.

Despite my post above, I will concede that the CGi work in Ang Lee's Hulk was excellent, though I don't think it's quite as good as TIH. I felt the newer one had better and more realistic movement.

However the very fact that the CGi in these 2 films is being compared like for like (despite a 5yr gap, which is a lifetime in terms of computer graphics) shows that the 2003 film was technically excellent at the time of its release.

Far from it. 2008 Hulk has superior textures.
You mean more detailed textures. 2003 Hulk actually has a more accurate level of definition. 2008 Hulk was as anatomically correct as an action figure.

I liked the 2008 Hulk better. It's cgi was choppy, but its pretty hard to make a huge green man look realistic.

But the design was much better.

TIH Hulk was waaay better than Ang Lee's. The one in Ang Lee's looks like he is made out of clay or something. He looks soft. TIH looks like a monster, which is how he should look.

= superior textures. 2003 Hulk's anatomy didn't make any sense at all. He had calves bigger than his thighs.

More detail most definitely does not mean better detail. And the Hulk is never going to be anatomically correct, but should make sense based on how his body is structured. Someone with such a huge body would need different-shaped legs.
