2008 Hulk is way better IMO! Really fierce and angry compared to that shiny giant mongoloid back in 2003

More detail most definitely does not mean better detail.
Yes. It does. If it's more, it's better.

And the Hulk is never going to be anatomically correct
Nor have I said he should be.

Someone with such a huge body would need different-shaped legs.
But not calves bigger than his upper legs. Before Ang Lee's film, he never looked that way.

It sickens me that the Hulk gets no love from the very organization that should see the dependence the movie has on the visual effects. Although there were some obviously unpolished scenes, the effects in TiH were right up there with all the others nominated for a VES award. It's like TiH is long forgotten, even in its infancy. I mean, c'mon. Cloverfield? Eagle Eye? Changeling? Even the Mummy 3. What is up?

The Incredible Hulk deserves way more attention than this short-lived crap. This movie saved the franchise from oblivion. Nobody posts anything here now.

Norton Hulk

The body of Banas hulk looked funny. I thought the idea of making a resemblance between Banner and the Hulks face was a good idea.

how did this movie saved the franchise?

Ang Lee's Hulk had better muscles on his chest

Louis Letterier's Hulk had better face, hair, movement and pretty much everything else.

Well, at least I hope it saved the franchise. Ang's Hulk was panned by critics and the GA alike. TiH was accepted better. So if there is a sequel, it will be a sequel to TiH.

2003 Hulk looked more life-like, but also a lot more goofier. I'll have to go with Norton's Hulk, who looked a bit video game-ish but still looked extremely menacing.

The "if" in italics doesn't sound like salvation to me.

Watch the movie and you'll find out.

Watch the BO numbers and it doesn't look too great.

I can agree with that.

But it still has a greater chance of a sequel than Ang's Hulk, which was my point. Granted "salvation" is a strong word at this point.

And since when quality - and not BO numbers - has meant sequels?

You present this question as if TiH failed at the box office. Sure it didn't do as well as I had hoped, but to others it may have done as expected, or better than expected. While it is no Iron Man (in terms of BO), it still has generated a ton of cash for Marvel. I think alot of Hulk fans were spoiled with the box office outcome of Iron Man and expected it to be the same with TiH (since TiH was just as good as Iron Man, in my opinion). It was conceivable that Ang's Hulk could get a sequel b/c it also made money overall for Universal, just not enough of it and it got so much neg feedback.

While the desert scene is by far my favourite CG in Hulk; I disagree with what you say - the cave scene with Betty is absolutely stunning example of top notch CG and is definately on a par at least imo.

Someone's not loving Hulk scenes in the desert..? :cmad:

Ang Lee's Hulk looks so much better, much more realistic looking as far as someone being a giant green muscle man. Not to mention, that it seemed like he was far more capable of tearing Norton's Hulk to pieces than vice versa.

this is just funny.
no it didnt make a lot of money to them. if it would then they would talk sequel.s those movies are made for sequels. more movies. more money.

spoiled by IM? hahahahha. dude IM is getting a sequel.

you can like this movie . we will respect it. but please dont talk like TIH madelot of money. if it would then they would make a sequel and they would about it the last 6 months.

I understand your criticsms and believe they hold some water. But TiH DID make a decent amount of cash. Based on domestic and international totals, DVD sales, production budget and in my estimation a weak advertising budget, TiH made in the neighborhood of $200 million. This number does not reflect television rights, blue ray sales, and other mechandise.
My point was that TiH was more positively received than Hulk. So we have a better chance of getting a sequel in the future. Besides, I am convinced that Marvel has their hands full right now with IM2 (a sequel to IM is a no-brainer), Thor, Cap and the Avengers; not to mention their economic situation amid a recession. No need to diddle dally in the future of a franchise that is sitting a little on the fence.

TIH will get a sequel eventually; it's just that Marvel's hands are full with the projects leading up to Avengers is all. I won't expect another one for another 2-4 years perhaps. Besides, we'll see him again once Avengers rolls around. :word:

Not only was TIH profitable albeit quite modestly for Marvel but as the previous poster has stated, it was better received by the viewing public than Ang's Hulk was. That's a step in the right direction IMO.
