There's more than a tiny bit wrong with FF.
jaydawg said:So.... using his optic blast one time to knock a guard then another time to hit Jean was fine? People act as if Singer was a freaking godsend to the X-men franchise. Ratner didnt do a thing to them that Singer didnt already do.![]()

Fault Zak Penn.

I dunno, to me it felt like it had that early Lee/Kirby flavor...y'know, like when the all powerful Dr. Doom first menaces the Four in FF#5...by making them go back in time and dress like pirates to steal Blackbeard's treasure. Yeah, there was some cheesy dialogue, but again, go re-read the Lee/Kirby FF run and tell me there's no cheesy dialogue in it. It was a fun, entertaining movie. And enough with the brow-whining...I know those hardcore Thing fans like their eyebrows, but saying that the movie sucks because Thing didn't have his big brow is like Alex Ross saying the Spidey costume sucks because it doesn't have the "Romita eyes". Oh no, Human Torch sucked because in the movie he wasn't covered in vertical lines like the comics! And I find it hypocritical that people bash FF for not being true to the comics while praising X3, which is far from true to the comics.
Daredevil (Director's Cut) is also a pretty good movie, the best of the 3 in this poll. As far as X-Men: The Last Stand (aka "Batman Forever: X-Men Edition") goes...ugh. Easily the worst. Most of the characters we've come to know in the first two movies get maybe one or two brief scenes, which usually either end in death or the loss of their powers. Wolverine is just as dominant in this movie as he was in the first two (maybe even more so), but it comes off much worse here because he has no real storyline...just fight and boo-hoo over Jean (and couldn't they just keep Cyclops alive to do that?). Characters die only for shock value, every storyline in the movie is poorly developed because they exist only to give the mutants an excuse to fight. If I want nothing but fighting with the occasional sprinking of weak story, I'll play the Capcom X-Men fighting game...and I'd have more fun than watching this mess. I'll watch Elektra and The Punisher back-to-back before I'd even think about seeing X-Crement 3 again.

Zak Penn didnt write 3? I thought he did.Tony Stark said:Not true. Cyke had a pretty big part in the first movie. He had a larger part than shown in X2, however unfortunately 1/3 of his scenes ended up on the cutting room floor, which can be seen on the deleted scenes on the DVD.
Now I don't fault Rater for Cyke's abscence in X-men 3, I fault Lauren Schuler-Donner, Avi Arad, and the script writers.

BIG SPOILERS!!!
Rogue. She decided to take the cure?? That's a great message to send to kids, isn't it?? The X-Men is supposed to teach understanding and tolerance. It isn't about saying "yeah, it's fine to be a mutant, but like, maybe ya should become normal!". It's sending out the wrong message. The cure is sort of a metaphor for "if you were black, and you could become white, would you do it?". The answer should be... "yeah, sometimes it's hard being black, but I shouldn't have to become white. I'm proud of who I am."
