BB has some very underappreciated shots

I love this shot so much. Especially in motion. A single frame doesn't do it justice.

That is my absolute favorite moment from that film and one of my favorites of the whole trilogy. I remember being awestruck by it when I first saw it, especially with the music. It's subdued but it communicates so much. The legend was born right there.

I prefer the BB shot because it's longer and has the "duuuuuum duuuuuuum" theme music building in the background.

I definitely didn't care for the way TDKR shot was placed. It has no continuity with anything going on before or after. I really don't think it belongs where it is. Still, that aside, I thought that shot was breathtaking in IMAX.

Batman Begins had some of the best close-ups shots as well too IMO:

We see Bruce leave Miranda and go to the suit, cutting to the aerial shot of Batman on the bridge. It had continuity, as much as a Batman appearance can have.

I really have to say TDK tops it for me but Rises is a close second.

It's a beautiful shot and it was one of the one's I was most looking forward to seeing. I was still disappointed in it though when I saw it in film (even in IMAX). It went by quick, didn't have any real oomph to it either like the BB shot or even Batman standing on top of the tower in TDK.

I love that little scene right before it when Gordon realizes who he is dealing with. Love that cop's response to him.

Gordon: "We'll never tie him to it anyway."

Cop: "I wouldn't be too sure of that."

Maybe the greatest moment in the trilogy.

The first half of Batman Begins alone had the best cinematography of the series imo. Gonna have to go with that.

The cinematography was gorgeous in all 3 films. I'm going to vote for TDK but both BB and TDKR have some really, really amazing ones too.

BB also had this scene (one of the best scenes in the trilogy), and it was shot beautifully:

With Batman Begins, I like the cinematography form the first half of the movie. All the scenes shot in Iceland and on the sets in that part of the world looked great. Once he goes back to Gotham, it is very hit and miss. It overall looks great and deserved its Oscar nomination from that year. However, it does not have the wow factor that its sequels and Inception had a few years later.

That may be my favorite moment of the film. Certainly my favorite moment after he first puts on the suit. The legend is born, Gordon sees the world and his future and the city's is forever changed and Batman has a moment of triumph. It was awe-inspiring as we saw Batman watch the sun rise when I first saw it in theaters. Still very powerful.

Anyone has a better pic of this?

Awesome scene.

At first I thought Begins was far and away in third place but, wow! Truly amazing work by Wally/Nolan and the team. To me, it's almost a three way tie.
TDK and TDKR have a slight edge over BB.

TDKR/TDK tied

They all have beautiful cinemaphotography, tho.

It was odd. I thought they shot him climbing it too. Its odd that he is wanted by the Feds and he is out climbing bridges and perching on top for everyone to see. Plus the shot is extremely short. IDK it felt truncated and out of place.

Good and bad throughout all three. I thought Rises had some of the richest imagery - but this was as much due to design as anything else. The colors in the prison flashbacks, for instance, are all superb.

Nolan films are always a bit too frenetic, I find, when they need to be more measured in spots. He seems to have trouble backing off and just letting certain shots breathe.

Maybe it's an editing issue.
