The Dark Knight Which Scene Are You Most Excited To See?

i swear they used nicholson's scream when bats yanks up flass in bb:ninja:
That's true. :S

Nolan has a hate/love thing for Tim Burton. First, there's Aaron Eckhart as in Lt. Eckhart from Batman '89. And then this line:

"I'm not wearing polo, Alfred."

Ouch... kick in the balls. Twice.

Actually, it's "I'm not learning polo, Alfred", as in polo the sport. And how does it show a love/hate thing for Burton?

i was thinking the same thing... did Burton make a polo reference or something?

Well, you got the quote from BB wrong. And I'm fairly sure Nolan didn't cast Aaron Eckhart simply because there was an Eckhart in B89. Basically, your argument that Nolan has ANY kind of anything for Burton doesn't stick well.

Not to mention the part in BB when Alfred and Bruce are watching Batman 89 and Bruce says "that's damn bad television".

Or Alfred mentions the shipment of batnipples have arrived from China for the batsuit and Bruce punches Alfred in the balls.

God Nolan hates Burton!

Indeed, I hope Warner Bros. is prepared for the massive amount of people who may going to see I Am Legend just for the Dark Knight preview.

The one that is in The Dark Knight. You know what one I'm talking about don't you?

I wouldn't trust IMDb that much, if I were you. Alfred says to him:

– If those are the first of many injuries to come, it will be wise to find a suitable excuse. Polo, for instance.

He points to the bruises at the same time. Meaning, he suggests that Bruce should wear something to cover the bruises.

Respond:
– I'm not wearing polo, Alfred.

And you can clearly hear he says "wearing".

I thought he said 'I'm not learning polo'...still I don't know what the says about Nolan hating Burton.

Right, ok. Now let's see if I can convince you of how ridiculous that is.

"If those are the first of many injuries to come, it WOULD be wise to find a suitable EXCUSE. Polo, for instance."

First off, Bruce is clearly wearing polo in several scenes of the film, such as the scene where Alfred is explaining how there's a problem with the graphite in the cowls, and the end scene where he's standing in the burnt rubble talking to Dawes. So your implication that he has an aversion to Polo shirts is unfounded.

Secondly, how in the hell is WEARING a polo a "suitable excuse" for having crazy bruises over your arms and chest? Last time I checked each polo I own didn't repeatedly sock me in the body while wearing it. Logically, it can't be that Alfred meant that a "Polo shirt" would be a "suitable excuse" for his injuries. So that would have to mean you're thinking of the wrong kind of polo. Alfred obviously meant Polo as in a sport commonly played by people of higher class status (like Bruce), who come from rich universities where it is commonly played, and which is physically challenging and can cause injuries if played regularly, just like any other sport. Just use your logic and you'll see that there's no way he could've said "I'm not wearing Polo, Alfred".

If you turn on your closed captions while watching the film, I think it'll clearly say "I'm not LEARNING polo [the sport], Alfred".

i cant wait for the 3-way scean of harley quin, catwoman and rachel

"If those are the first of many injuries to come, it WOULD be wise to find a suitable EXCUSE. Polo, for instance."
Even if he says "Would" instead of "will", the meaning is still the same. I wrote "suitable excuse", moron.

Don't be more stupid than your nickname, please. He's wearing a regular shirt during those scenes. Actually, it seems you're thinking of some other clothing. This is the polo I'm talking about, a similar model that Michael Keaton wore.

Yet again, you prove what an extraordinary idiot you are. Alfred suggests polo as a suitable excuse to cover the bruises.

If you turn on your closed captions
That might help you. Here's to hoping.

What you just wrote is so stupid, I'm taking for granted you're either ironic or just a plain moron. Sigh.

Wow. You are literally the only person I've seen interpret the scene that way.

I checked the scene again anyway, and even turned on subtitles. It clearly does say "I'm not LEARNING polo, Alfred".

It's strange that I have to point this out.

Dude, I'm not gonna stoop down to a name-calling fight on a forum, so I'll just say that calling me all kinds of derogatory **** isn't gonna change the fact that 1) you have no idea what you're talking about, and 2) you're dead wrong. Don't get all pissy.

And that's not a polo you showed in your picture, it's a ****ing sweater. Jesus.

LOL! No, he doesn't. Bruce doesn't have to wear a freakin' polo shirt to hide brusies. Any regular clothes that cover the body can do that.

How could you misinterpret such a simple line?

Turn on the subtitles and watch the scene again... You will be amazed at how stupid this argument is.

It's not IMDb, it's the ears. Watch it with subtitles, turn the voice on as much as you want, it still says "learning", as in: "Well, if you're gonna get those bruises all the time, at least pretend you're playing polo (the sport) and claim that you got those injuries from playing it".
Sipmle as that. It's not a matter of opinion. You heard wrong, and it's ok. But don't call others stupid because clearly you're the one that made a mistake here.

The scene where Bane breaks Batman's back on his knee.
