I'm a race car.

VRRRROOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!

She should seriously reconsider if she is doing a reality show. I don't think it would be good for her. Her family already seems highly dysfunctional and that will only get exacerbated with the spotlight that a reality show brings.

which is exactly why they would want her. This describes the the bulk of reality shows on the air. Money talks and she doesnt have a job anymore. If she's going to capitalize on this, its best to do it now while the iron is hot

There's a difference being having an affinity for Chinese culture and being Chinese though.

I can't speak for the Chinese but I know white people can gain acceptance among blacks after showing years of dedication and commitment to their culture and families.

Those whites may recieve mockery from blacks and whites outside their circle of black friends and family but within those circles they are "allowed" to consider themselves black.

Though I doubt the racial identity issue is scrutinized within these circles often because it can be deeply hurtful to challenge a person's identity and loyalty.

She lied to and deceived everyone she worked with
She made incredibly hypocritical comments publicly shaming other people who were doing less extreme examples of what she was doing. She instilled racist views in her brother.

see I dont see how that hurt anyone. If I found out tomorrow that someone I worked with that led me to beleive they were hispanic but was in fact 100% white, I wouldnt feel hurt. I would think the person had issues and would question things that came out of their mouths, but hurt? I wouldnt take it as an offense or personal strike against me

If she's a likeable person whose blackness comes across as genuine then she should go for it. It would be the best defense for her position.

If she's unlikeable or her blackness seems forced then she should go into hiding because there would be an avalanche of backlash and criticism.

The money tho.

That's intolerance. Her methods were shady to achieve her goal but what does that matter to her struggle? We either accept transrace or we oppress them. That's where hypocrisy comes into play. This is our society now. You can't keep moving the line on issues.
No it's not. Whether or not you treat that transperson as a the opposite gender of no relevance to them. They made the choice to identify for personal reasons. They aren't playing a role to make others think something else by crafting an fake background . If his mother calls him Bruce he will still reply.

This woman's lie had no purpose other than to deceive so people wouldn't question her and now she's still lying.

She was white when she wanted to get into Harvard and now her parents aren't her parents.

Rachel Dolezal's Brother Accused of Molesting Her With Photos of Black Women
The brother of Rachel Dolezal, the Spokane, Washington NAACP leader who was outed as a white woman posing as black, is accused of molesting both Rachel Dolezal and her sister Esther Dolezal.

TMZ reports that Joshua Dolezal currently faces four charges of sexual assault on his adopted sister, Esther, who would have been 6 back in 2001 when the alleged molestation would have happened. Joshua Dolezal was arrested in 2014 and is set to go to trial in August.

The Denver Post obtained the arrest affidavit in the case and revealed another creepy twist to the Dolezal story - the claim that Joshua attacked his biological sister Rachel as well, and showed her photos of naked black women.

According to the docs, Joshua was 16 or 17 when he threw Rachel on the ground, pulled up her shirt and sexually abused her. The victim says Joshua then showed her National Geographic photos of topless African women ... and told her he [blanked] to them.

She added Joshua was “turned on by the black body and was curious about black women sexually.”
The New York Daily News has reported on Rachel Dolezal's claims that her parents outed her as white as a possible retaliation for her involvement in the case against her brother.

Her father, Larry Dolezal, told Spokane TV station KHQ. "It's a separate matter."

Did the news of her brother come out before or after she made headlines?

Wow. So we can stop discussing this as some issue of race/trans and not a dysfunctional family.

i don't have much to say about this or the bruce jenner thing, but I wonder if obama will speak up about this.

I would like to hear what Obama has to say too. If he wants to that it.

why should Obama address this? This isnt a National issue. Its probably best he stay away from this mess

He's addressed many social issues before to reporters when asked. I think he'll eventually give his opinion on the matter when a reporter asks him randomly about it. One day.

Even if there is a discussion to be had on the subject. This woman isn't the one.

Wait, were you saying not to talk about race in relation to her or to not talk about her family issues or to not talk about both?

I would like to hear what Obama has to say too. If he wants to that is.
fixed, I think? and yeah, I agree.

National issue. Its probably best he stay away from this mess
why did obama talk about kanye snatching swift's microphone? I'm pretty sure that wasn't a national issue either.
Yeah I see no reason why Obama should address this.
obama changed history forever by becoming the first black president of the united states. this news is obviously and undoubtedly controversial. now i'm not saying he should go on live television and make a statement about it but I mean it would just be interesting to hear what he has to say about it if he feels like speaking up or is asked in an interview his opinion.

I came across this well-written article about Dolezal, her parents and her upbringing.

Let's Talk about Rachel Dolezal's Parents

Aspects of Dolezal's upbringing reminds me of the Duggar family, which would explain why Dolezal is estranged from her parents and such. The article does not condone Dolezal for doing what she did however.
