Who do you collectively regard as Marvel's 4 best superheroes and why ?

Yep. Dr. Doom, Magneto, Thanos, and Galactus are great characters, but they are not heroes.
Depends on who you ask:o I like bad guys. Plus, Magneto is a hero from a skewed pov and so is Doom. They want to do right, they just have an odd way of showing it. Plus, I would beat the **** out of Reed and Sue Richards any chance I got as well:o The Fantastic 4 are annoying as ****. So, all of my choices are legit choices.

Doom is not a hero, cause what he does is for Doom and only Doom. He gives his people in Latveria a great life so they can love him. He is incredibly vain and selfish (which are what drive him), and this is why I can't say Doom is a hero. The argument can be made for Magneto, since he has the mutant communities best interests at heart and just has questionable methods at times. Doom is one of my favorite Marvel characters, and likely my 2nd favorite. But, I can't call him a hero in anyway.

So from a Latverian pov...Doom is a hero. From a mutant's pov, Magneto is a hero. Not everyone loves Spider-Man. He has even been seen as a vigilante in the public's eyes and not a hero. He has been hated and his methods have been questioned.

Spider-Man
Wolverine
Jean Grey
Captain America

Plus, when Earth is threatened, Doom and Magneto step up to the plate.

Looks like we're considering the question in two different ways. I'm looking at this from a readers perspective, and you're from the perspective of someone within the Marvel Universe. Looking at it from you're point of view, you're right it would depend on who you were. But, I think as a reader, it is hard to make Dr. Doom a hero. Though I do think the argument is there for Magneto from a reader's perspective.

That makes Doom an interesting character, but not a hero. The reason he doesn't want the Earth destroyed is cause he wants the world for himself. He may be helping the heroes, but it is still for selfish gain.

Spider-Man has messed up with choices and people have died due to that. Now he is more of a hero, but Doom or Magneto aren't true Villains. All from pov. Like I said...I hate boy scouts like Captain America and Cyclops. They are lame sauce.

Cyclops is an underrated character, IMO. Characters like Cyclops and Cap have the weight of the world on their shoulders, so to speak, and they have to deal with the decisions they make in command, even if someone dies due to their decisions. Yet, the have to stay strong for eveyone else and be examples. It's an interesting conflict to me. Cap has the added man out of time element that makes him more rich than Cyclops though, but Cyclops is far from bland IMO. He just has to put out a certain character for the team to follow.

I can agree Doom is not a villain like Thanos, but I would still call him a villain. Spider-Man has done things that got people killed, but Spider-Man does what he does for selfless reasons, which is what I feel seperates most heroes from villains. Why are you doing it? Spider-Man goes outside the law, but for the greater good. Doom is only involved in doing any good cause it benefits him. He wouldn't do so otherwise. That's what makes me put Doom in the villain column. Like I said in regard to Magneto, Magneto is more selfless, and can be seen as a hero. We agree there.

Spider-Man :spidey: - not just for his powers, but also for his tenacity.
The Beast - intelligence, strength, speed & a sense of humour
Pheonix - pretty unbeatable and she's a redhead like me
Dazzler - cause every group oughta have at least one singer :D

(anyone else notice that Spider-Man seems to be the most common choice)

Move to Latveria...it is nice this time of year.

From Galactus' point of view he's just hungry.

He isn't doing anything for anybody else:huh: He has never shown any redeeming qualities:huh: Plus, I didn't whine and say you couldn't pick Galactus:huh: Plus, the measure of a hero is never from his own point of view...it is from the people he impacts or tries to help.

Prof X- greatest psychic
Dr Strange- greatest with magic
Reed Richards- greatest intellect
Black Bolt- strategics, top tier at physical combat, and top level energy attacks via his voice

Xavier, Richards and BB all are also very skilled at tactics

on top of their individual abilities they've all worked together before and can call upon tons of super powered backup if necessary.

Other than cosmic beings these four can take anybody.

Captain America
Hawkeye
Thor
Iron Man

I love those 4 in the Ultimate universe aslong as it's Millar being the main writer and not Loeb. :)

Spider-Man
Captain America
Iron Man
She Hulk

Captain America-C'mon, it's Cap. No explanation needed.

Cable (when he was basically a God)-Yea Cable is a bit of a sour puss, but the guy knows the future, the past and the present. Is a brilliant soldier/tactician and when his powers are at their full potential, he's pretty much unstoppable.

Deadpool-Strange choice and it might be my fanboy coming out but he is literally invulnerable, immortal, whatever. Even if he is disintergrated he would come back some how. He's a good fighter and is literally the Marvel version of Bugs Bunny. And Bugs ALWAYS get's the win eventually. Plus unpredictability can be a good thing. And under all the bad jokes, violence and self and world hating is a guy who wants to prove he can be a hero. And when he sets his mind to something, not many people can stop him. Unless your Thanos and decide to lift the curse that grants him immortality. :D

Thor-It's Thor, the God of Thunder. Can take on pretty much anyone (when written to his full potential)

I suppose the term 'best' could be interpreted in a couple of different ways. If I wanted a team that might best protect the earth in a multi-book story arc, I like the combo that R.Havoc had...good balance and blend with that one!

Now say if I wanted a 'best' group that might represent the Marvel (Disney?) comic line/Universe best...well, I might bring up:

Mr Fantastic - Greatest mind and member of the first family of the comic universe
Professor X - Highest representative of the Mutant communities & founder of one of their most popular character groups
Spiderman - The hero of the everyman with a heart of gold and a noble purpose
Hulk - representative of the darker side of the comics world, and yet still capable of adding might to the forces of good...plus in his savage persona, the little kiddies ate 'em up!! :woot:

Captain America: An icon and symbol for justice since the 1940s, CA can rally the troops and inspire good, leading to victory in any battle.

Jean Grey: One of the universe's most powerful beings, yet her intentions remain noble and she remains a champion for mutant rights and equality

Spider-Man: An everyday man transformed into a costumed hero with the proportionate strength of a spider, SM keeps the heroes around him grounded in reality

Iron Man: a genius with a suit that makes him a match for an other hero, IM is quick on his feet and an good ally to have on the good side

Captain America - best leader, bar none
Nova - Universal savior. He's saved trillions of lives while everybody else wasted their time on petty little squabbles.
Hercules - Cuz he will f**k you to death.
Thor - Cuz he's motha f**kin THOR.
