Who do you want as the main villain in The Batman?

If I had my druthers... Court of Owls as the actual baddies with Joker or Riddler as red herring villains that turn spoiler against both Bats and the Court.

As a concept I think the Court is something you could get a whole trilogy of films out of.

Also have a few other villains in like Deathstroke. Infact I love the idea that he's been hired to take out the Joker and it's the Joker that hired him.

I agree. We've only had one really great Joker story until now. If you consider how old and iconic the character is and how many great CB stories he has been in, there's no doubt he deserves another shot. To claim we've had enough Joker is simply underrating the character's value and potential.

We have arguably only had 1 great Joker story. If we've had 4 probably nobody would be thinking about having the Joker again in the new movie. Sure, there are a lot of villains that were never used and could very well be, but at the end of the day, i don't think it is such a bad idea to try it once more with the greatest Batman villain, especially under such a great director.

That doesn't mean we can't have other villains in the movie. Maybe 2 or 3. Joker can be one of them. He has been in so many Batman stories that i don't feel like one great movie with him is enough to explore all of this character's potential. He definitely deserves a new chance, especially after SS.

I suppose they could do something like Batman: The Movie, where it had Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, and Riddler in it working as a team to take over the world.
I guess you are referring to TDK? But what was wrong with Joker in Batman: The Movie and Batman? Why weren't they great Jokers?

They don't even need to be working together. Imagine a movie where Penguin ran Gotham and the Joker was trying to take it back and become the big boss. The Penguin could hire Deathstroke to kill the Joker. This is just an example of how a film could easily work with several villains.

I don't like Batman 66 because that's not my Batman. I watched it as a comedy and enjoyed it, but that's not my idea of what Batman should be, if we wanna go for a serious approach. It worked in its time, but i don't think nowadays that many people feel like because they watched the Joker in the 60's, they've seen all there is to see about this great character and because of that they don't need to see it again.

I liked Joker 89 but i don't think that was Joker at his best. The plot wasn't particularly interesting and there wasn't much depth to the character. So i really think only one movie did a great job with the Joker, and given how iconic the character is and how many stories with him have been told, i don't think ONE movie is enough to satisfy all my Joker needs.

Also, this Joker needs to be in a movie with the Batman for the sake of the character's integrity. You have a Joker in this universe but you don't put him in a movie with Batman? That's like having cheese and not putting it on top of a pizza. This Joker needs saving and that can be done by putting in a Batman movie under a great director.

Given what is being said about the structure of it centralising on the 'detective' elements of Batman rather than brute force and fighting skills then it points to a Riddler story interveening with I think, The Joker having hired several villians to see him dead. That way you cater for both elements but personally truth be told, I want the Red Hood story spread across 2 parts.

To not ultilise the extended Bat family, (which they in fairness, have said they will) would be a crime.

Imo Batman 89 is great and Nicholson's Joker is iconic. That plus Leto's Joker didn't really work imo. I personally would like to see The Penguin, The Riddler or Mr Freeze.
