Who here is actually gonna see the movie?

Will you see X-Men Origins Wolverine?

  • Definitely! :yay:

  • It depends - I need to see more footage.

  • I'll wait for the DVD.

  • Absolutely not! :cmad:

I'm not going to the theatre, I'll wait for the dvd. Which is sad because I've seen every X-Men film in the theatres. I'm just not happy with what we've seen so far.

Fox didn't get my money with FF2 and Elektra, they ain't getting it with XMOW either. They should not have gotten my money with X3 either, but I was curious...

I'll be damned if I don't make it to the midnight showing!

I'll be checking the reviews first, as well as the run-time, anything less than 115 mins and some bad reviews will be MORE than enough to convince me not to give Fox my money.

I learned my lessen from X-3. Sometimes, DVD is better... you have a FF button.

Agreed. I will still go see it but I will buy a ticket to another movie or go to the early bird first showing where it is like 4 bucks.

Barring two hour plus run time and spectacular reviews... both of which probably won't happen... this won't get a dime from me... if anything I'll pay for another film and do a double feature on a Friday or Saturday. So that would qualify as absolutely not seeing the film since I don't plan on paying for it. It's going to take an awful lot for that to change. The way I see it, Fox is a flop away from being in major trouble. We have an opportunity to put a dent in them, and possibly take Rothman out for good. If any of you share that sentiment, don't pay for this. Don't hype it or bring too many people other than fellow die hard fans who can't help themselves. But do try to pay for another film if that's possible.

You know - just because you don't think you'll like a movie, or you don't like the company behind it - that does not justify you essentially "stealing".

This is exactly why I hate fanboys - their sense of entitlement is so strong that they actually think it's -okay- and -justified- for them to steal.

As long as your hatred doesn't extend to us fangirls.

:D:D

If it doesn't effect you then why do you care? And yes... when I pay for something... I am entitled to quality. Anyhow... don't expect me to get into a 5 page essay discussion you got into with a poster the other day. Besides... if I like a film I usually go out and buy a DVD... or rental to see it again.

If you don't like something, as you think you're not going to like this movie, it's simple - don't see it.

Because you don't like something doesn't mean that you're entitled to get it for free.

And for the record, your mentality DOES effect me. I have lost jobs because of people like you - because of people who don't pay and instead bootleg. People who download music instead of buying it, people who bootleg movies instead of paying for them.

It effects me, and MILLIONS others, quite greatly. I take your sense of entitlement, and false justification to "stealing" quite personally, because it has effected me personally by taking away my ability to make a living.

Your mentality is actually rather sleazy.

Hence the phrase, "When I pay for something..." It's one thing to bootleg... I am sure most people can admit they have bootlegged something at one point in their lives. It is what it is. Going after fanboys and illegal downloaders won't help though since there are millions of us. Go after the sources. As far as paying and sneaking in to something else... or doing a double feature.... no I really don't feel guilty about it. I am already there. I am not going to leave the theatre and pay again to re-enter, or come back tomorrow. Sorry you feel otherwise, but it makes no sense to me from a selfish point of view. It's up to the theatres to enforce that... making sure everyone leaves after their feature or proceeds to their paid movie from the getgo.

I don't get why anyone so vehemently opposed to a movie and everything associated with it would even bother sneaking in to see it in the first place. Why waste your time?

That is such a weak argument and you know it.

So um, it's okay for me to steal your car because, hey, I'm already standing next to your car, and from my standpoint, it's not worth it for me to walk down the street to my house to get into my own car.

And hey, it's your fault anyways, because you should have been paying more attention to your car so you could stop me from stealing it.

Well there is some entertainment value seeing some of your favorite characters in live action for 90 minutes or so.

And you thought my argument was weak... SURELY there is a difference between something worth thousands of dollars versus a ten dollar movie ticket...

Then you can pay for it.

You're not entitled to it for free, no matter what false sense of justification you have for it.

The one thing this thread did was to draw a place for some to hit and run in their bashing tactics. Fans of other films peek in here and hope Wolverine fails for some reason.

The only thing guys like FaT_tONle do is inspire real fans to pick up the slack. I was going to see Wolverine multiple times but, after reading his plans, I'm going to make sure I pay to see Wolverine all summer long. I'm using his tactic against him and paying to see Wolvie when I go see Star Trek, Terminator, etc. Thanks for the idea!

Yes, but if you think it's going to be terrible, where's the entertainment value? If I think a movie looks bad, I find something else to do. If I'm curious about it, I'll wait for Netflix.

Awesome.

Or I can get it for free because I am cheap and can use that ten bucks for something else. Look you are 100% right... I just don't feel guilty about sneaking in when I am already there paying for something else.

I am guessing you didn't take a close look at that trailer? I mean let's be real... because I vehemently bash something by the same token I can't find one if not several redeeming aspects about it? Again... not good enough even for a matinee by my standards although I have proven myself wrong before.

You bashed it for months while keeping it listed in your sig. You bash it constantly...but you're going to sneak in and see it anyway. You said this earlier:

What does that mean exactly? If you see it without paying it doesn't count? Because if you do that and then come in here to bash it, we're going to have to constantly remind that you didn't see the movie.

And it was removed once there was more evidence that the film was going in the direction I was afraid it was taking.

It means there is no evidence of me seeing the film other than an eyewitness account (which SHH posters won't have) or my own word... because the poll obviously did not accomodate the option I was looking for.

As for the second remark... Go see the Watchmen boards... that's all that needs to be said.
