The Flash Who is the Man in the Iron Mask?

Wesley shipp is probably the man in the iron mask, as Jay Garrick.

Perhaps this Barry Allen is adopted in E1.

Would be a nice throw back, and shows him in costume.

Either way I think there's a big reason why they didn't talk to Barrys Father in E2, and this is probably why

So many things is pointing that the man in the iron mask is earth 2 Henry Allen / the real Jay Garrick. Do you remember that Hunter / False Jay Garrick said that "his best friend was from Atlantis" ? Everyone thought that he was talking about Aquaman... but both Barry's parents are supposed to live in Atlantis, and before Jesse Quick was captured, the only relationship Zoom had was with this mysterious man in the iron mask.

We never saw earth 2 Henry Allen.

Jay Garrick in the comics is a fifty / sixty years old man... like John Wesley Shipp !

now the "My mother middle name is Garrick" is the ice on the cake.

I'm pretty sure E2 Barry's phone said "Mom and Dad" (and a separate "Dad" for Joe). So Gaultheria's theory could work and does make sense for all of the family angst and separation that the CW shows love.

I don't remember: do we even know that E2 Barry's last name is Allen? If E2 Nora remarried a man named Thawne, that would sort of deal with the comics' plot of Barry and Eddie being secret brothers, and E2 Iris would have also married a Thawne.

So this means Barry's maternal great Grandpa was a Garrick. Could Jay Garrick of Earth 1 his actual great-grandpa?

1905- Jay Born (meaning he's in his 30s in WWII and skips WWI)
1930-5- Barry's grandma born
1955- Henry Allen Born
1990- Barry Allen Born

ok thank it's possible for Gaultheria's theory to work. but it could also suggest that cause Henry said it was his mother maiden name(before marriage) that they have distance cousin's cause she might have had siblings.

yep all good points. but this this the cw writers and they could have changed stuff I've stated this befor in episode thread's that the whole let's mix two character's into one thing is being over used though withtheshow runners ofthe CWDC superhero shows and it's kinda over lazy with it use.



I also stated since henry stated it his mother's maiden name is Garrick and if they were to try something different for a change of pase it would other relative which would be cool. I stated this

So, Barry may be related to some version of Jay? That would be quite a twist, and maybe explain why there's supposedly no Earth-1 version of Jay.

yeah henry said his mothers maiden name is Garrick so he's ( barry) ether has a distant cousin named Jay Garrick or they will used it as alias for barry him self some how. which would be weird.

oh it seems that wally and Jessie got mutated via barry;'s phase out in this dimension (no not other reality with Dopple gangers). obviously he's not dead. hmmm makes me wonder where he went to? and if he'll run into trajectory there. they both could be in the speed force.

point is they kind over used the whole let make character two character which were separate people in other places like the source matrial. it been over played from small ville they did it with vandale savage and Linda park becoming doctor light. it become kinda played out. I do like Wesley ship but....

He didn't say it was his mother's middle name. He said it was her maiden name.

we'll all keep in mind you said this . and no one will be nasty about it if it turns out to be some one else. but alot of don't think it's wally cause we had good look at him from the time barry met Jessie in zoom's lair on earth 2. while he was some in a dark space that didn't seem like black male. but alot can happen just keep this in mind . they also could be swtch actors alot too. we won't know til the reveal

The actor looked white to me. That being said, the only thing that gives me doubt is seeing Wally in the cave. The actor is relatively light-skinned and looked even lighter in that lighting. I still don't believe its him, but I don't think it's as crazy as before.

here's the facts the person playing the guy in the mask is white, not black. and he has what looks to be dirty blonde hair and looks older than barry.

even if it ends up being wally, the guy there showing us is white....from my point of view that would be a stupid move, it's great if your pulling a prank but if your writing for a tv series and making the show somewhat believable you failed miserably by doing something like that...you gotta keep the character the same with/without the mask on.

my guess is its someone related to barry somehow in his bloodline, remember zoom told barry to keep family close, and that the man in the mask would blow his mind if he told him, i'm thinking it could be henry's mothers father, who is the real jay garrick probably played by the actor playing zoom/hunter. I'm probably wrong though.

that leaves room for relatives and if the writers decide to weird kill of henry they can't do the barry is the last of the allen blood line cause it's over played . yeah they don't anwer the name Allen but that shouldn't mean barry doesn't have blood relatives any more completely. with his only option being just starting new family with iris via marriage.

and as I said they over played the let's mix two character's into one like with savage and dr. light being Linda park in nother reality and a few more characters prior. Which has been over played with small ville's jimmy Olsen and what was done with the flash on that show saying he was ALL OF THE FLASH'S BART , Wally WEST and JAY GARRICK WERE HIS ALIAS'S as false Id's

And to see if Barry's grand mothers side from henry had siblings . I hope she did. I'd buy there was Jay Garrick that way and he has features henry does be he younger or older.

Maybe it's Nora's father (and Barry's grandfather) who looks just like Henry Allen. So when it's said that women really marry their fathers and men marry their mothers (ie someone like that parent), maybe here she married someone who literally did look like her father.

Maybe "Jay Garrick" is the equivalent of Ben Reilly, the name that alternate Peter Parker adopted during the clone saga. Reilly is Aunt May's maiden name, and Ben comes from his uncle's first name. Maybe E2 Henry Allen uses his mother's maiden name, and his father or someone else is named Jay.

Everyone trying to guess the man in the iron mask identity based on the color of his skin or hair is wasting their time since its been confirmed that not even the cast knew until it was time to shoot the reveal so whoever we seen in the iron mask is not the actor who is actually playing the part

What if there's another mask under there? What if the guy is wearing an Eddie Thawne mask which is clearly a mask? And so they'll leave us on a cliffhanger which will last the whole of season 3. It will be: Who is the man in the Eddie Thawne mask?

like I said that's been over play with mixing two characters as it is unlike what happend with one of my marvel fave characters like ben Reilly AKA the scarlet spider. they over played that with making savage being hath seth anomber other characters in this show extended uinverse sadly.

I just hope it's someone from Henry's mother side of the family like she had siblings and Barry has distant cousins they weren't aware of and one looked like Henry in his younger days and look the same when he's as old as him.

Nora said that Barry him self looked like her dad in the final episode of season 1 before she croaked in front of him in Barry's own arms.

so this isn't impossible.
