Who should be the director?

Compared to Seth? Nah.

Compared to every other possible candidate? Yeah, probably.

Justin Lin as director for The Flash I would definitely get behind that

Clover field lane was pretty good.
Not sure exactly how established WB wants the Flash Director to be though. Marvel was pretty spot on with the Russos and Whedon even though they where more writer/TV people.
I also thought Josh Trank's Chronicle was a good first outing....
Maybe someone who's pumped out 2-3 well received movies in succession. Maybe if he nails Warcraft Duncun Jones could get it.

still hoping for brad bird even tho i didn't love tomorrow-land it had the aesthetic, fun and tone i would want for a flash movie

My absolute pie-in-the-sky dream choice to direct The Flash would be Bong Joon-Ho.

Memories of Murder. The Host. Mother. Snowpiercer. All excellent. As much as I love the character of The Flash, I'm wary of a film even being made with how much I love the TV series, but the one thing that would help sell it for me and get me fully excited and onboard would be attaching a spectacular director who would be guaranteed to make a great film, and Joon-Ho would be that guy. He has shown a skill to do compelling, accessible genre fare, while also having a weird, idiosyncratic, individual quality to them.

My only problem with Bong Joon-Ho would be his direction of English speaking actors. You could tell in certain parts of Snowpiercer that there was a little lost in translation.

English speaking seems to be the direction he's headed as a filmmaker. His next film, Okja, stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Tilda Swinton. So you'd assume he'll only get better with experience.

How about Dexter Fletcher the director of Eddie the Eagle. The tone and visually look fits The Flash. He is a relatively fresh director. But all 3 of his work are critically acclaimed though.

His small films such as
Wild Bill (2011) got 100% on RT and Sunshine on Leith (2013) got 92%

It is a risk. But Eddie The Eagle was certified fresh and he knows how to make happy endearing movies.

I would like to see Ryan Coogler take on some DC comics property. He knows how to do a great film. Something like CREED is what DCEU needs.
Hopefully he gets a project, Flash would be great. He would make it gritty but entertaining.

the best choice got taken by star wars and that was lord and miller

He's directing Black Panther. None of the cool directors want to touch DC. So they should send the garbage truck full of money to a JJ Abrams type and be done with it.

How about Justin Lin ?

If Star Trek Beyond is a success, I can see WB think about Lin for Flash.

If Lin really is in contention, I'd hope Warner Bros would wait and see how Star Trek Beyond is received. I'd prefer they didn't stick us with someone genre nerds have already turned against.

What ?

Justin Lin would be great.

However, if Star Trek Beyond is a financial success, I imagine his next big film could just be the next Star Trek film for 2018.

I'd be pleased. I think it's more likely that he's directing Shazam and that Flash gets moved back. I hope I'm wrong though

Shazam will get moved back because its not integral to the current DCEU.... makes no sense. Rick is definetly doing THE FLASH. he followed DC's prominent flash writer MARK WAID.

Last week Shazam producer said Shazam would be coming sooner than the announced release date, and Mark Waid also wrote Kingdom Come which is quite Shazam focused. And the producer of Shazam mentioned that very title as a part of the inspiration for the movie. And Rick followed Channing Tatum at the same time as he followed all the DC/WB affilated people. Tatum being a popular choice for Shazam

Anyway, food for thought. I hope he directs Flash. I give zero ****s about Shazam tbh

Yeah could be Flash or Shazam, who knows. I'd be happy with either.

Tatum could always be a Flash cast member too. Captain Cold?

I thought for sure Rick Famuyiwa was going to be the right person for this movie.

Maybe WB can poach Tim Miller?
