Really liked this relationship... maybe swap Kitty for Doreen

MJ is more than enough IMO. Some versions of Gwen has been good, but for the most part I felt like she was kind of a generic love interest, and that her importance (or rather status) came due to being the first big crush of Peter, but also the fate she suffered. Call me crazy, but I don't think we need any love triangles or love squares with Peter being chased by Gwen, MJ and Felicia Hardy. All we really need is the one. You can do a lot of things with just one love interest. There's a lot of potential for Peter being Spider-Man and how that affects his relationship, without having to go to love triangles to cause drama.

I think it's best to introduce some ladies who can handle themselves without Parker having to worry about saving them at some point.

It's important to get MJ and the others introduced but I would def hold off of her dating Peter right away.

With Spidey being connected to the MCU and in highschool for awhile now, I have no problem introducing characters like White Tiger or Kate Bishop. This is a great way to introduce some of the younger Marvel characters actually.

As far as love interest my votes still for Black Cat.

No. Peter should only be with MJ, Gwen, Betty, Felicia or Liz (or Kitty if she was in the MCU)
He shouldn't be hooking up with other female heroes just for the sake of change.
Absolutely hate this idea.

It makes the most sense. You don't bring Spidey over to repeat the same exact things.

Also make Aunt May 35-40 and film some scenes at a bowling alley or dinner at a restaurant. Maybe go see a movie with Peter. Aunt May leaves the house in the comics.

If you want something different, then just let him date Liz.
But Peter must be with MJ at some point in this series, I don't want to see her get the shaft again.

People are tired of the typical movie girlfriend. Why can't he date someone with powers?

The Spidey films have never introduced a female superhero or villain so that will definitely need attention. Even if they are not a love interest. I see no issue either way. He's been hooking up with Silk lately, to think he can't be with a powered female character is being fairly close minded imo.

Eventually MJ is gonna come in, so I would rather they switch it up for the time being. It's very important and they need to establish her, but no need to rush MJ and Peter's relationship.

Because it's a dumb idea, just for the sake of change. it sounds like something Avi would come up with: "Oh, people are tired of MJ and Gwen, let's have him date Black Widow or Scarlet Witch!" people are tired of typical movie girlfriends? MJ isn't just a "Typical" love interest, she's has a very pivotal role in the Spider-Man mythos and if you think she's just a "Damsel in Distress" then I suggest you learn more about her character.
Oh, and last time I checked, Peggy, Pepper and Jane didn't have powers, so...
Black Widow x Incredible Hulk
Iron Man x Pepper Potts
So? Tony was with Pepper In the comics, and I'm pretty sure the only reason Banner isn't with Betty anymore, is because Marvel doesn't want acknowledge TIH's existence for some reason.

We had five movies of MJ/Gwynn it's time for something different. Batman has different love interests nobody complains

Pepper was married to Happy in the comics. Peggy and Jane are no longer love interests. But they had 100x more skill then MJ in those movies

Then use Liz Allen, simple as that.

And then perhaps a scene of her showering, with Peter passing her the soap :)

Because Bruce Wayne isn't Peter Parker.

In five movies we've never seen Peter and Aunt May actually do anything together outside of funerals and a graduation. People do things with their families especially if that's all they have left.

Because Bruce Wayne isn't Peter Parker.

Focusing on the same love interest turns into Superman movie franchise and that's been stale for decades. He's a high school kid he should play the field or explore his new self confidence as Spider-Man. Black Cat would be ideal but I guess that's copy Batman too

Give her Mj but don't make it Romeo & Juliett drama stuff this time. No puppy eyes, no crying just a cool hot girl out of his league.

Make being Spider-Man effects his social life including his love life.

Add Felicia Hardy too. Just don't make it too deep love stuff. Make them highschool crushes.

Both Spiderman series made his love life huge issue.

Also make Aunt May 35-40

Hmm why? She`s never been this young in the comics, not even in the Ultimate Universe.

This I agree with. Aunt May needs to do things with Peter besides attending funerals and graduations. But she can do it being elderly, there`s no need to de-age her.

This is a great post, Harry. Wholeheartedly agree with all of it. (edit: Can`t you just picture Avi:: "Man, I just had the best of ideas... Spider-Man should have a superpowered-date! And it should be Venom!)

As for my opinion:
There`s no need for Gwen or MJ in the first film of the series. Peter can meet them in college, like he did in the comics. They can use Liz Allen for the first movie, but they really shouldn`t make it the biggest deal of Peter`s life, as the other 2 series of movies have done with his love life. Focus on his friendships and family this time around. Perhaps the first movie could have Peter and Flash start as enemies and become friends in HS, for example. You can even have Liz Allen in the mix (and she ends up dating neither, but Harry Osborn). Just no more excessive pining over from Spider-Man, at least until we get to his definitive love interests (Gwen and MJ).

I'd like for them to use a combo of Liz Allen and Betty Brant. But don't make it "Peter is pining over this one girl, she gets kidnapped, final scene of Peter having to save her." Make it where Liz and Betty are at odds with each other. Peter goes to school with Liz and works with Betty, they both have feelings for him but he's too nervous to even entertain the idea. And just please please please no more "damsel in distress" storyline!

I really don't get the people who want avoid Gwen just because she was used in TASM. No one is going to look at the movie and decide not to see it because "It's Gwen again". What do they have to gain my randomly using a little-known love interest no one really cares about?

Because people are still hungover Emma Stone, and don't want to move on.
I call it "Emma Fever"
