Homecoming Who should be the Villain in Spider-Man (2017)? - Part 1

Reading "Old Man Logan" right now, and there's something pretty awesome that makes Mysterio a much bigger and evil villain than some may think he is.

don't read if you don't want spoilers from "Old Man Logan"

Mysterio made an illusion that, to Wolverine, all the other X-men looked, smelled and felt like a group of supervillains crashing into X-men mansion. Wolverine killed them all with his own hands. After realizing that it was the X-men he killed, he quit being Wolverine

1. Now, I want Mysterio even more.2. I want to read Old Man Logan now.

Mysterio and Kingpin might not be such a bad idea. But have Mysterio as major foe & Kingpin again with decent behind the scenes but workable script.

Not wanting a cramped film for first one again.:oldrazz:

Again why would any one want to make kraven into a looser villain who gets beat easy or that silly steve Irwin rip off usm did. Just make him be classic big game gunter he gets hired by someone to get spidey. Then over a film he is in he develops a rivalry withbspidey. And go from there.

Again if you want to play with a looser villain for fun. This where you can throw in some minor guy like white rabbit, leapfrog, grizzly, hypo hustler and so forth.

Why don't they set up villains in the first movie? For example have Herman Schultz robbing a bank or something then becoming the Shocker in the second movie.

I don't think he should simply just be a "Big Game Hunter" .. i don't think it's very believable to have a man just come into town to hunt a human being down...

I see the Kravinoff family being the crime family they are... basically a Russian Mafia. Sergei is just very eccentric.. and just so also happens to be a big game hunter. He's very passionate about his hunting... and likes to wear some traditional garb when on the prowl... thus why he dons the outfit to try to "take out" spider-man. I also like the idea of him really going after connors/the lizard.. i mean.. he's the actual animal that would make sense

spideys got 4 big russian characters in his arsenal... Kraven, his half brother Chameleon, Rhino, and Silver Sable... why not tie them all together this way?

Mysterio.

Why?

Because I so want to see some trippy things happen to Peter. Delusions and hallucinations following him around the city, at school and at home .The movie could be so many different things that way. Enough to entertain all fans of different kinds of genres. I've always been interested in that.

I think my only issue with Mysterio... is as much of a huge spidey villain is... his biggest moves, and most "villainous" moments... have come from other super-hero stories... His Daredevil story arch.. and the old man logan story...

Mysterio should be used in a way to TORMENT peter.... and I kinda feel like that should come after the death of a loved one...

in a perfect world, i would have used him after Gwens death. But i have no idea what they plan to re-tread in this rebooted franchise

Just cause his stories where like so and so in comics. Doesn't mean the films wouldn't have a good story and make good usage from him.

He's like Spidey's version of the Scarecrow.

im aware of that.. but his best stories have been when he's been able to "torment" the hero.... so imo that's why mysterio works best after a death... so he can torment and play on peters loss...

Going back to Webb that's what I believe he had in mind for introducing Mysterio. Those illusions or glimpses of Capt Stacy plus Mr Fiers vanishing act from ASM. I really would liked to have seen this and more of The Gentlemans role explored.

Maybe he could be apart of the next instalments but I can't see it myself.:whatever:

I agree...........sorta.

Kraven should not be an easy out for Spidey; and, I hate the Ultimate version of a reality show...so yes, from that aspect, we agree.

However, in 2016...looking slightly ahead, I don't think the "Big Game Hunter" of a human works in this day in age....but Imo, there is a way to incorporate his classic persona into this age we're living in....this is where I think spideyboy_1111 hit it on the nose, when he said....

Kraven should be the family's undercover hit-man, whenever the Family deems, some laundry need to be clean. He's an advent Big Game Hunter for sport/hobby, for the family name, in the public eye; but also, uses it privately, as skill/training for his family underworld activities.

For whatever reasons, the writers decide to have the family put a contract on Spidey's head, maybe because he is disrupting big shipments, or costing the family huge sums of money, or losses from their underground businesses...whatever the case may be. Kraven could be out to fulfill the family decree, in modern day attire, be it a black Imani suit during an 1st attempted late afternoon hit, or maybe a militaristic Black-ops attire in late night 2nd attempt. Finally, by the climax, he began to take the challenge personally, as the family is starting to doubt & question his abilities, in getting the job done, dons the tradition attire we grown to love from the comics, complete with all the deadly weaponry, of a Big Game Hunter, we are accustom in seeing.

I don't like the idea; but I can see, this is where the writers may incorporate some elements of "Kraven's Last Hunt"...in the final, climatic, episode or act.

No no he isn't a human hinter. He we can do that mob connection. And has hunting as his thing. I don't see him hunting spidey as human hunt. Just he is hired gun for someone ekse. And then after spidey bests him they develop that rivalry and all that.

That was an outstanding story. I never thought I'd see that much of a bloodbath from Marvel.

Marvels had a couple of blood bath titles in the comics. That reminds me, I really hope they have some good dsrk moments for Spidey, like him really beat down and bloody or possibly him beating another character bloody maybe almost killing another character. I think when there was an impersonator of him in USM he almost killed the impersonator. Something like that would be great to see on screen maybe him confronting the man who killed his uncle and almost beating him to death.

I'd like to see him come close to killing the real Sin-Eater if they decide to have him don the symbiote again. It would be a great subplot for a film adaptation of Kraven's Last Hunt. Post-credits we see Brock finding the symbiote to set up Venom for the next one.

One villain I hope they do not do for some time is Doc Ock. SM2 delivered a near-perfect rendition of the character and I do not want to see my favourite villain turned into a bland, one-dimensional caricature of himself at the hands of Marvel.

That's why I've supported the reality star angle. Basically he's an international celebrity renowned as both a big game hunter and a bounty hunter. He comes to town officially to hunt a villain (The Hobgoblin, in my treatment) but J.J.J turns him towards the "real threat to NYC" in Spider-man.

Kraven shouldn't work for anyone but himself.. he's the "don" or the "godfather" of his mafia (think kingpin) He just is more "hands on" and takes it up a notch when someone below him fails.. (which is also why his half brother chameleon would work so well with him) also... it's easy to fit in Rhino as well.. with the "big game" theme and the fact he's russian too

but i agree with the rest.

i personally can't wait for the 2nd bout with Ock... while he was a great villain in Amazing 2, he was a far cry from the Otto i know

No offense.. but that sounds terrible..

the whole notion of a reality star becoming a villain is just awful.. and very cheesey imo (especially in todays world that fillets big game hunters alive)

and i think hobgoblin being hunted down is a bit off as well... Kraven imo would only be tangled with spidey for 1 of 2 situations... 1) He's hurting his business in crime or 2) Kraven has a target, and spidey keeps getting in the way (the only target that actually makes sense for Kraven, is Lizard... who's actually a giant animal.

Kraven hunting hobgoblin makes little sense to his character. and between that and the reality star angle.. everything just seems too "convenient" and very improbable.

To explain my treatment in more detail, Peter is back from Infinity War with the symbiote. While he was gone, the Hobgoblin and his Enforcers have gone on a high profile crime wave as they fight for control of the New York underworld. A massive bounty is put on the Hobgoblin's head, and Sergei Kravenoff, better known as Kraven the Hunter, comes to town to pick up on it. Spidey gets in his way, however, and he is prodded by JJJ in pursuing him as well. He and Peter's arcs reflect each other as the symbiote and Kraven's drugs send them down a very dark path, culminating in a final showdown where Pete rejects the symbiote and defeats Kraven on his own.
