Homecoming Who should be the Villain in Spider-Man (2017)? - Part 4

Even though I knew he'd never do it , having already played J. Jonah Jameson , and now playing James Gordon over at DC , But I always thought JK Simmons would have made the perfect Vulture , and anyone who's seen Whiplash . might know what I'm talking about

But the Vulture could be pretty cool , with the right actor

Vulture isn't one of my favorite villains, but I really think some of you are underestimating the potential he could have. Especially if they get a great actor to play him. They had a chance with Ben Kingsley for Spider-man 3 before Sony butted in. Vulture could look dynamic on screen if done properly.

Yeah, he would've been fantastic. I also think Vulture can be pretty cool regardless, really.

He fits best for easy MCU connection, the themes they're going for (JH feel, which a lot of that had to do with a "vs." concept like Bender/Vernon, Bueller/Rooney, McCallister/Lyme-Murchins, Mitchell/Wilson, etc.), and it also helps that he was wanted for a while going back as far as to Spider-Man 3.

Add Michael Keaton potentially playing him and we're sure to get an awesome Vulture that'll completely redefine the character.

You can be creative with Vulture

Have him able to detach feather-like blades from his wings to use as weapons

Give him some lasers in gauntlets like Falcon has

etc. etc.

Yep , with todays CGI , a great actor , but a lot will come down to the writers , with good writers , the Vulture can be down right creepy

Has to be classic costume though , they went with classic costume for the new Spider-man , they need to go with classic costume for the villains as well .............................whoever they might be

Now i've got this image in my head of a creepy stalker Vulture. Imagine him being perched on a rooftop looking like this:

Stalking Norman, waiting to strike. :wow:

And imagine this in live action:

Yeah, there's a lot of potential here.

I have no fears with Vulture.

  • He can be portrayed as a goof that Spidey can just tease.
  • He can be portrayed as a nuisance that Spidey gets annoyed with.
  • He can be portrayed as a cold, sinister villain who targets anyone to get what he wants.
  • And lastly, he can be portrayed as a terrifying creep, living up to being one of the many "Birds of Prey" just waiting to strike with lethal intent.

All depends on if they plan on making him a main or side villain and who portrays him.

That's hauntingly awesome.

Give him a family and you can flesh him out too.

Hell, any of the young actors cast so far could be playing his son / daughter for all we know. Have them attend Midtown with Peter for extra drama.

I'd go that route if they plan on establishing Toomes and Norman as former partners, and Norman basically screwing Adrian sets him off.

Again, lots of different avenues.

Hell, they could even make one of the established HS characters (Liz, Sally etc.) Toomes' child / grandchild

Say Laura is playing Liz as some speculated

Who says she can't be Liz Toomes

I could even see Michael Keaton as Norman Osborn , now that Sony and Marvel have a shared Universe , would be cool to see Oscorp as a serious rival to Stark Industry

Keaton is a bit too old for Norman

Still think if they wanna have Norman AND Gobby in the future, this is one of the guys to do it:

If Keaton is playing the Vulture(or another villain), I can just imagine Spidey saying this to him

"You wanna get nuts?! Come on! Let's get nuts!"

If Gyllenhaal got the role...

Then that would mean Normy had some early kids. :oldrazz:

If we get Vulture and don't get a "hey bald eagle" quip I'm going to be upset.

:funny: Perhaps, but I think he's great in terms of everything.

Age-range (longevity), look, acting chops (could buy him as the shady business man and the Goblin as Nightcrawler made me **** my pants on more than a few occasions), and he's always been around superhero movies but has never done one.

It fits. :woot:

Gyllenhaal would be great as anyone. Wouldn't say no to him as Norman that's for sure

And for personal reasons of always wanting to see JG as Spidey, it'd be cool to see him play his arch-nemesis in contrast. :cwink:

If Gyllenhaal was Norman and Keaton was Toomes... Imagine the scenes between them

Would be glorious
