Or Paul Greengrass.
holding the camera like a shivvering elderly person with no fingersAs long as he didn't shake the camera rapidly during every sequence, I'm fine with that.
Personally I can't stand Bay's lowest common denominator style. It's junk food for the brain.
And?
It works for Bad Boys and The Rock and car chases and shoot outs
Just not for The Island which should have had more social commentary
Hey I'm sure some people like that music video type stuff, but I grew up on John McTieran & James Cameron action movies and compared to them Bay's stuff will always appear to be fluff.
) His movies are superficial, I take them at face value.I like those guys too, but i feel like people expect Hitchcock-like quality from Bay (before someone says something, Im exaggerating) His movies are superficial, I take them at face value.
True and that's why I avoid his movies. But we're talking about a Cap director and I'd rather not have one that's going to make it superficial. I mean a Cap movie should be just a little less serious than Saving Private Ryan. But still quite dramatic. Bay can't do that.
All I know of him is that he directed The Notebook. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a Cap movie but maybe there are other films he's done which argue for him in a better way.
