Who Should Play Samus in a Potential Metroid Movie?

I really like the idea of a Samus movie. It's been a while since we've had a truly kick ass sci-fi heroine and I think she could fit the bill nicely.

As for the casting suggestions, I can't say I'm a huge fan of them. I wouldn't mind Rachel Taylor terribly.

I will suggest one that is a little out of left field. Blake Lively (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0515116/) is currently the lead actress on Gossip Girl. Despite it being a teen soap, all the acting is pretty good and she is very solid. She's very good looking (for all you gents ;)) and she can definitely play the range of emotion required; tough, vunerable, funny, and anything else in between. She can also do physical (she played a soccer player in Sisterhood of the travelling pants and had to beef up a bit for it). She is definitely at the point in her career where she is looking to make the jump into film, so a big budget action/sci fi film could be the perfect way to distance herself from her TV persona. Plus she can't say no to these big oppurtunities, unlike Theron or even Jovavich.

I could see Blake Lively work as Samus.

Man just thinking about a Metroid movie is a geekgasm. Imagine an opening sequence of Samus fully armored up blasting away some random space aliens, or alternately battling a lower-stage Metroid (the lower-stage Metroid might be a better idea to better showcase what Samus can do physically and metamorphically), then after an intense battle is over, still in battle position, we hear her speak over the radio back to her ship's computer (or someone else) showing that the fierce warrior we just saw is actually a bad-ass woman. :)
