While I think Jason Alexander may work, I like the suggestion of Michael Emerson as Doc Ock. Based on his roles in LOST and Person of Interest, he has the ability to play meek, intelligent, and real menace.

As for Bale as Norman, he would be a good choice if they go younger (my preference is Bryan Cranston). And yes, American Psycho is exactly what I thought of when the suggestion was made.

I really hope you guys are kidding about jason alexander. I mean if this was the Amazing universe we're talking about, hed fit right in but otherwise..

Alexander is a great actor and he would own the role. The only problem is he's George and unfortunately that's all people will see. "Ock is getting upset" will become the next meme.

Bale as Green Goblin is a great choice. I said in another thread a while ago I wanted to mention him for that role but was afraid people would react badly. Glad to see I was wrong.

Im not saying hes a bad actor but hes not a good fit for ock imo. Its the same deal as Giamatti for rhino, just a bad fit

So I have a weird theory but what if in this timeline Rhino and Sandman(before they became supervillains) were brothers who did crime together?

Damn, he was a bad, cheesy, overdramatic and overacting Rhino. I cringed so much and could barely watch his scenes.

I was thinking about it and Peter Dinklage's voice would sound great as Mysterio

picturing George Costanza as Doc Ock... every time he retracts his tentacles, I picture him screaming "SHRINKAGE!"

But that is how Rhino is in the comics, video games and cartoons. The Rhino may be a popular rogue of Spider-Man, but Aleksei is an unintelligent caricature of a Russian mobster. The Rhino is literally the "dimmest" of all Spidey foes. I mean...you work with what you've got. The only alternative is to either dramatically change the character of the Rhino, which leads to people complaining about the lack of accuracy, or to just avoid the character completely because he is inherently lame. The Rhino has always been imposing because of the level of physical danger he poses, not because he is a Machiavellian schemer known for his poetic prose during combat. He is literally an idiot in a super-suit. When I think of the Rhino, I pretty much think of the comic-relief.

Also my Bale for Norman pick comes off more so from America Psycho (yea I love the film).

Not just in the fact he's a business man but the one thing I thought would make him a perfect Norman when I rewatched it recently was the scene where they compare business cards and just how envious and upset he is over Paul Allen's card. I feel Norman would be like that to in a way where Norman builds himself off as this important man and just the smallest thing like let's say Stark Industries stock was .1 higher then Oscorp's stock for the day would piss Norman off. He cares about those little things.

"Hey, Peter, do you like Huey Lewis & the News?"

Its just ten times worse to see it come from a short, overweight, old actor who is so much better than that

You think it'd make sense if Taskmaster was one of Kingpin's men?

I only have three choices:
1) Mysterio
2) Mysterio
3) Mysterio
;)

I think it could work, but the whole hired gun aspect kinda cheapens the character. I think a lone wolf take wouldnt be bad
That'd work as well. New list then.

1. Mysterio
2. Taskmaster
3. Vulture
4. Kraven
5. Kingpin and his henchmen

Number 5 would be interesting just to see an hour of Spider-Man going through Kingpin's men and his criminals to get to him only to find maybe one his henchmen like Hammerhead or Tombstone and have something simple as the final battle.

I'm assuming whoever they get will sign for at least 10 films. 5 solos and 5 team-ups... plus a few cameos peppered in there. Here's how I'd map out the "Spidey-verse" with respect to the villains for the next 10 (or so) years...

Spidey movie #1 (2017): Doc Ock and Norman Osborn ("corporate villain", not Green Goblin yet)
Spidey movie #2 (2020): Venom and 3/4 lesser villains vs. Black Suit Spidey
Agent Venom spinoff #1 (2021): Carnage (Spidey cameo)
Spidey movie #3 (2022): Mysterio, Kraven and Lizard
Spider-gals spinoff #2 (2023): *drawing a blank WRT villains... could use some help here :)*
Spidey movie #4 (2024): Green Goblin
Sinister Six spinoff #3 (2025): SHIELD as "antagonists" and maybe a dash of Kingpin (Spidey cameo)
Spidey movie #5 (2026): Sinister Six

If you're gonna team up Mysterio with anyone, I think Vulture would be awesome, for a couple of reasons.

Imagine the possibilities of having Mysterio and his illusions, and add what Vulture brings into the mix. I think we could get some really cool sequences that plays on the fear of heights. Normally heights isn't a problem for Spider-Man since he can just swing away, but if illusions started manipulating the way he saw them, we could get some neat scenes.

Mysterio and Vulture would also both be fresh faces on the big screen, so no fatigue about re-using familiar enemies. And both of them are also both interesting enough that it could make a good movie, but not big enough of villains that they would need a solo movie to build them up. With some enemies like Green Goblin, Doc Ock or even Venom, you would need to devote almost a whole movie to each of them to truly make them justice and get the best out of them, whereas Mysterio and Vulture are slightly smaller and not on the same level as Spider-Man's biggest enemies.
