Well... they shouldn't remake Spider-Man 2...

I think Mysterio could carry a movie, if they made him into a scary psychological villain, rather then another generic thief with a gimmick.

How often has Spidey had to deal with a psychological threat in these films? Mysterio is smart enough to drive a story and his gimmick is unique enough to make him memorable and if you want a real unsympathetic, have someone who plays cruel mind games, not someone who robs banks.

If they used Spider-Man to make a psychological thriller with mysterio, that could be really cool. Each marvel film has its own film, and they're always adding new genres to the MCU.

Winter Soldier is a spy thriller, GOTG is a sci-fi space comedy, Ant-Man is a heist movie, and I would love to see a psychological thriller mixed in there too. They could probably add Chameleon in there too as a secondary villain.

The death of Jean DeWolff could also be a detective/criminal investigation style film.

Kraven's Last Hunt is another film that would serve as a psychological thriller.

The Venom Saga could potentially be horror-esque, especially with Peter not knowing when or where Venom is haunting him.

I think they need to give the Venom storyline another shot.

Chameleon could serve as mystery.
Kraven could serve as a Man vs. Wild scenario.

There's a lot of avenues they could go. I'm really hoping for Kraven, though.

Oh, and I still think either Ock or Venom would do wonders for being the villain to wrap up the trilogy. Then, if they continue onward, we can start seeing some villains we've seen before return with an MCU twist -- provided Sony/Marvel stayed on good terms for that long.

The way I'd aim to do a second trilogy is Lizard, Gobby and Sinister Six. After that, an adaptation of sorts with Kraven would be really nice.

I imagine that we will get a trilogy and a Sinister Six movie immediately after.

I agree with the consensus of it being either Mysterio or Kraven, but I'm leaning towards Mysterio at the moment as I think he would bring something unique to the table. I'd probably throw in the Scorpion as a secondary threat as I've already felt that his and Mysterio's stories would complement each other well in a film.

Mysterio top pick for me if not then others would like include Scorpion, Hammerhead & Chameleon.

Hammerhead I feel is a villain that would be an interesting side challenge or someone who just pops up when you least expect him.

Do you think Mysterio could make for some good fight scenes though? I want a villain that can put up a good fight and give us some intense action sequences.

Well given Mysterio's skills with illusions etc he could pull of quite a few paranoid bizarre but nonetheless wonderful sequences for both Spidey & the citizens of NYC to perhaps try & make them go over the edge. I mean from ideas such as creating tidal waves, earthquakes, swarms of killer bees to perhaps clearing out the city by a fake asteroid coming towards Earth etc.

These are just ideas but I'm sure the filmmakers would have some interesting ideas in store for Mysterio vs Spidey. More of a psychological battle I'd say.

Another secondary foe like Shocker or Hammerhead in the mix again would probably be on the cards.

Imagine if they did Venom/the symbiote like the creature in Alien. :hmr:

I want to see Spider-Man have good fight sequences. Those ideas all sound really good and I'd like to see them, but I want to have Spider-Man do some hand-to-hand combat.

That's part of the reason I don't really want Mysterio and why I want Scorpion.

The fight scenes could be impressive and after the aerial fights with Vulture, fight scenes on the ground would be nice.

Imagine Spidey Vs Scorpion in inches of snow :hmr:

I just want a fight to top the train sequence from Spider-Man 2.

Scorpion and Kraven would make for some neat fight scenes.

Depends on how they approach it. I think they could have a lot of brutal close up combat.

Scorpion, Kraven, and Mysterio I think are the three big unused villains who can carry solo films. At some point in Holland's tenure, though, they HAVE to tell the Venom Saga right, starting with the suit, then Brock, then hopefully an Agent Venom spinoff.

I could definitely do without any Agent Venom stuff personally.

Know what I'd really like to see? Minor/lesser antagonists playing supporting roles in the films.

Silver Sable & the Wild Pack, Puma, Jack-O-Lantern (simply for the badass special effects), the Looter (would make a GREAT cold open lol).
