After four films, I think it is time to bring back Ock. Plus reminding people of the best film in the franchise can only be a good thing.

I'd love to see Chameleon but I just think its telling they opted to skip him in favor of Vulture.

If they keep it a minimum of 4 films, I'd reckon we'll have Kraven, Doc Ock (finishing the trilogy) and a more larger 'ensemble' film for Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six.

If this was the ASM 2, I think the return of Peter's parents subsequent fall-out and lead-in to ASM 3 adaptation of the Pursuit storyline would've been brilliant starring the Chameleon but oh well...

I still think he could sort of appear as a side character though with main focus being on a fun villain for a homecoming sequel though just would work on a completely different level.

I really think that Scorpion would work. He sets up JJ Jameson and Joe Robertson as major supporting characters and would be nice to have as a corporate-sponsored superhero who replaces Spider-Man on the Avengers until he goes bad when he learns that his powers are slowly killing him and he wants revenge on Jameson for being the man to suggest that he become Scorpion.

I'd also have Oscorp be involved in his creation to set up Norman Osborn as a villain for a later film.

That'd be ideal. Mysterio for the more fun, hammy villain and Chameleon for the cold, calculated sinister villain.

YES!:woot:

Javier Bardem, Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Gerard Butler for Kraven the Hunter.

They all scream Kraven to me.

Yeah, that'd work too although I'm still hooked on the man-wolf idea for some reason (although Mysterio what's real vs. what's fake would perhaps work better to counterpoint with Chameleon in same film) as it's at least someone with a physical threat and he's not totally bad either which I kind of like to switch things up from defeat the next villain per movie formula (plus opportunity explore another dimension perhaps too).

Other than that, a cantankerous/hammy villain like the Tinkerer could be another option too I suppose as the Vulture in homecoming doesn't look like the vulture in the comics and a cantankerous old man causing mischief perhaps on own or on behalf of another would be kind of funny yet villainous at the same time.

I think Kraven's good too but just perhaps his best storyline couldn't fit as well with the current iteration of Spiderman they have going which is why I think the Scorpion or allistair smythe in the hunter role with perhaps some assistance from local authorities and media would work too.

Mysterio or Kraven next, please! Mysterio is such a freaking awesomely weird villain, and Kraven is just a ton of fun. Relatedly, I'd also gnaw a finger off for Spider-Man to cross paths with Daredevil or any of the other Defenders on the big screen. Will never happen, but a man can wish.

Kangaroo juxtaposes Spiderman quite well. Make Kangaroo have a really nasty personality that makes audience cringe (hard to find an actor willing to do that though I guess).
Then bam a great Spiderman villain. Kangaroo's explanation could be
pogostick champion jumping into a radioactive puddle maybe fusing the pogostick to the legs

Hydroman would be cool from a special FX perspective but would be much harder to do.
Just saying they could do what Raimi was originally going to do with Sandman with Hydroman

It will clearly be either Kraven or Mysterio. Possibly both. Sony's comments on not revisiting characters they've already done, and those are the two biggest villains we haven't seen yet

Never heard of Kangaroo man before. Does he box?

I suppose there are some limits that might be too far? I can just see the studio putting in Sandman and Hydroman into the same movie. They collide together at the end of the movie forming a scary looking mud monster before washing away with a classic "Nooooooo" line with a threat of being back with arm outstretched.

Anyway, Kraven and Mysterio are definitely 2 big names. Some of the side characters in homecoming I suppose could be a hint or perhaps not; I can't see a sinister syndicate running around with shocker, hydroman, beetle, speed demon, boomerang, and rhino anytime soon.

He could box possibly. I do not know much but I think he uses his legs mostly.
Mud monster could not work but could also end up being cool if done right.

If they do Kraven I think they should make him beat Spiderman.

If they do Mysterio maybe they should beg "Get Out"'s director (Jordan Peele) to write/direct sense supposedly he is good an messing with the mind or something.

Yeah, I didn't really think the mud monster was too good of an idea.:cwink:

Speaking of certain villains that like to jump around here's "The White Rabbit":

Anyway, I think if Kraven is utilized it gives access to utilizing Calypso as well as Chameleon as they interact in the comics borrowing comic storylines moreso but still don't know if Kraven's Last Hunt would really work all that well with the tone of the Spiderman movies they're doing currently.

I don't remember the last time I've seen Mysterio in a great storyline (the Daredevil one came out of the blue for sure) but would like to see one. Anyone have any ideas?

I agree with it either being Chameleon , Kraven , or Mysterio. I would lean more towards Mysterio for the second film with Kraven and Chameleon team up for the third film.

I would love to see a terrible two adaptation with her and the walrus.

Thank you for bringing White Rabbit to my attention. I just read up on her, Walrus, and Frog-man. Three epic characters I had not a clue existed. A film with them could be delicious camp :D.

From looking through Marvel.Wiki, I was able to ascertain this general info. including main relevant info. with few interesting tidbits as well:
In 1967, "Leap-Frog" was introduced in Daredevil 25 where he's captured and goes on trial in Daredevil 26 that ends with a failed escape attempt and segues into a story involving a different villain then later appearing in Daredevil Annual 1 in 1967 as well (annual served as chance to just put together random mash-up of recent villains selling it as "Emissaries of Evil" including leader Electro, Leap-Frog, Matador, Stiltman, and gladiator). Character not too popular over the years from what I can ascertain reading through info. I was able to find and appearances seem be mainly random in various comics after initial introduction in Daredevil.

In 1982, Marvel Team-up 121 mashed up Human Torch with Spiderman to take on Speed-Demon. Daredevil's old nemesis sort of re-invented as retired with son assuming his costume calling himself Frogman and passing self off as a comical hero bouncing into Speed Demon and stopping him. His father proud of him but not totally happy Frog-Man not very villain like.

1983 Marvel Team-Up 131 teamup of Spiderman where Frogman meets his arch-nemeses White Rabbit and Walrus.

1992 Spectacular Spiderman 185, the epic re-match nobody has ever heard of as this time both father and son; Leapfrog and Frogman team up with Spiderman to again stop the villainous duo White-Rabbit and Walrus bent on revenge in what appears to be their ultimate showdown.

Edit: Wierdly enough for as little as these character's appeared in the comics over the years while I looked this up, I noticed they actually made action figures of White Rabbit and Frogman. While I don't buy action figures, I suppose there's a few more prominent Marvel icons to add to a collection somewhere. :whatever::woot:

Further Edit: Nevermind. These appear to be custom action figures I saw while searching (although who knows a figure may be out there). Still sitting on the bench. Perhaps their time will come even if it is some random person taking things further by showing up at comic con in a custom costume.

I love this Frogman dude. Great to see a positive figure in comics that is of a plumper figure. I would love for them to make one of the storylines you mentioned a movie. A lot of fun in this version of spiderman. He may not be brooding, dark, and serious but he is good fun.

I know some may think this may be scraping absolute bottom of the barrel but after I've been thinking of this moreso I think this would be in line with Homecoming's attempt at making things fun, fresh, and interesting. Might as well go an unexpected route and swing towards left field?

Spiderman and Frogman traversing manhattan rooftops dancing on a field of stars; a soliliquy of of angstful torment talking about the inability to get the girl of their dreams while stopping evil doers in their tracks... Sounds funny and agree it can be a fun movie.

By the way: In case anyone else wants to read up on White Rabbit, here's some I was able to find (who I only remembered from buying Spectacular Spiderman 256 back in the 90's which is more or less just a random later appearance of the character) whose first appearance was Marvel Team-Up 131. Surprisingly she's appeared a bit more often in the comics than Frogman but still used pretty sporadically. http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Lorina_Dodson_(Earth-616)

I wouldn't actually mind Doc Ock, Sandman, Rhino and Electro already having been established in the MCU, so if Mysterio is next in line to deal with Spidey, we could get our Sinister Six movie in the near future. What's to say that Spidey has already dealt with them in the timeline between Homecoming and leading through Infinity War while coming into Homecoming 2? We've already seen the past villains in the Raimi and Webb films, so why restart them again?

And I would love to see a Spider-Man/Daredevil team-up in the future because DD shouldn't be relegated to only on TV. Same goes for Kingpin.

Some mews about the villains;

Now that Spider-Man is back home at Marvel and part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would seem that it’s only a matter of time before the MCU introduces one of the comic book universe’s biggest villains in Norman Osborn. However, according to producers Eric Carroll and Amy Pascal, it’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing the Green Goblin as part of the new series of movies.

“We want to tread lightly with what’s been done in the past films as far as The Osbornes and things like that,” said producer Carroll. “So I don’t think we’re going directly down that route. We figured honestly if there was a way to do this movie without mentioning anyone who has been in past films, with the exception of staples like Flash Thompson and Aunt May, that that might be a good thing to do.”

“We’ve recycled a lot,” added Pascal. “I think there are certain characters I don’t think there’s anything more to say about them right this minute? I mean, I don’t know how many more times we can do the Green Goblin. I’ve certainly tried to do it fifty.”

For his part, new web-slinger Tom Holland doesn’t seem too concerned about recycling when asked which villains he’s like to see his Spider-Man facing: ““Well, I love Doc Ock. I think Spider-Man 2 is one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. But I think Venom is someone I’d love to kick the crap out of one day.”

Looks like the Goblins won't be showing up any time soon. I love Holland's comments about Spider-Man 2 and Doc Ock.

I don't think doing four years of high school over the course of the next 12 years, and then trying to line that up with the rest of the real time MCU and the real time societal changes is a good idea... at all. I think it's actually the worst.

2nd Film should be Spider-Man: Graduation with Mysterio and Kraven as villains to really test Spider-Man's abilities and life outside of just his might. If Homecoming is The Breakfast Club, then Graduation should be Ferris Beuller's Day Off complete with someone hunting him at every turn just before graduation.

After that, you go into Spidey's college years, his gold age, as it were, and you have a chance to do something interesting with the Clone Saga with people like Jackal and Scorpion.

At any point in this process you can bring back Norman Osborn, Otto Ocatvius or Eddie Brock because they slide in the background well enough.

Chameleon could work also.

Him & Mysterio together would be a terrible match-up considering Mysterio cancels out his abilities
