Who to blame: Trank or Kinberg?

Bleeding Cool ran an article last year about how Trank was nearly fired before filming started. My guess is Kinberg wanted Trank fired and replaced with Matthew Vaughn because Vaughn was hired as a producer a week or so later.

Didn't they say that Fox wanted to fire him and start over with a new director or from scratch? And other sources popped up and said it wasn't true?

Too be fair Gareth Edwards really only had 1 movie (Monsters) before Godzilla and Colin Trevorrow only had Safety Not Guranteed under his belt.

Whether you like Jurassic World and Godzilla or not, they aren't failures of a movie critically or commercially. And both of those come from guys who's previous movies had little to no action (I don't remember Monsters much other than I found it boring).
The problem is not necessarily that Trank is inexperienced. It's that, but multiple reports he's kinda an abrasive a**hole and in addition to that he didn't seem to respect the source material

Honestly though Blackman, those are rare cases. More often than not I would agree its better for a director to get more experience and work up to such a huge picture than go straight from micro-budget to big budget.

Honestly, I think Godzilla 2014 has a lot of problems and the inexperience of Edwards clearly showed.

I honestly blame the person who gave him the gig. I don't know if ya'll have listened to his interview with Kevin Smith, but he got a meeting by running into the person in charge and just asking how Xmen was going, right out of the blue.. Lawd.

There are two more parts left to be released.

Oh that Fox, always carefully choosing their directors.
