I really do like Bruce and Selina as a potential romance story. I believe they could fall in love, but it is all only hinted and implied. You can see the potential and then the epilogue just skips the middle step(s) by what appears to be a few months. But it works.

Still yes, the trilogy is definitely about the bromance. And as much as I love the father/son relationship between Bruce and Alfred...

The bromance between Bruce, Gordon and Dent was extreme in TDK. I understand narratively why TDKR shifted from Gordon and more to Robin/Blake (not unlike the comics), but Gordon is the truest friend Bruce Wayne ever had. Especially in the first two movies.

Many of the moments between Gordon and Bruce/Batman in Rises felt like tributes to their friendship.

Yeah, we didn't get much of them together on-screen, but there was plenty of great Gordon/Bats stuff in Rises. Gordon's entire role in the film was basically suffering the fallout of making his son's attempted murderer out to be a hero and vilifying his closest ally. I loved his speech to Blake after Bane read his letter and the "... Bruce Wayne?" moment.

Had to go with Holmes and Bale had better chemistry than all of them even if her acting was a little wooden at times. For the life of me I still don't understand why you couldn't have just never mentioned her character and just had Maggie play someone entirely new. I have a hard time believing those two were the same character.

What about Bane and Barsad? Even as Barsad tossed Bane everything he would ever need, he was still looking at him with fear when Bane shot that henchman in the sewers.

And Bane nary shed a tear when Barsad was shot dead.
