The Dark Knight whos seeing the dark knight opening day

Me and my friends are going to see it opening day, but if there is a 8 P.M. or midnight show, we are so there.

I think we get the film a few days later in the UK than the US but they are doing a special 1 off showing at the Imax threatre in London before the official launch and i hope to go to that as soon as tickets become available

My only real decision is whether or not I see it in IMAX first. Probably will, then at a regular theater in case I missed anything - sometimes it's hard to catch everything at IMAX, and you have to have optimal seats. Saw the robbery prologue at IMAX and it was pretty awesome!

Well said! I will be seeing it at midnight in IMAX with about 15 people I dragged along. I'm looking forward to this more than my 21st birthday.

It can be 3-D, but in this case, the screen is just bigger. And 6 (I think) sequences were shot with IMAX cameras, where the film frame is about 4x bigger than 35 mm, so the image & detail are hugely increased:

I think it was stated that regular theaters will show these sequences with a taller ratio too (the IMAX ratio is taller than regular widescreen). And I'm still curious how that will eventually be handled on DVD...

I don't think this will be the case. If you watch the newest trailer, there are shots that were filmed in IMAX that were shown during the prologue (Joker's gang in the bank, gang members repelling from rooftop to rooftop) that were adjusted to the rest of the film's aspect ratio.

Mark me down for midnight Thursday night/Friday morning at the Orlando IMAX!!! I'm going to call the place sometime next month to find out when I can actually buy tickets. My guess is at least 2 weeks in advance...

when batman begins came out, they pushed it back 2 days; with transformers, they pushed it back 1 day; and with iron man, it also had a 1 day push.

i wouldn't be surprised if TDK gets an early screening as well. hoping for 2 days, haha.

Midnight for sure. I was planning on dressing up. However that'll be the same day as my and my girlfriend's Anniversary. So, dressing up is out of the question.

Ah yes, didn't even notice that. Some prologue shots may not crop too well (like the first time we see joker's face). Guess I'll just have to see it both ways!

The London IMAX website has added TDK to their list of programmes.

Its officially being shown from Thursday 24th July.
