Right.the second. I clicked on this again out of boredom, I remembered Daisy saying Jaco was good and thought "Does she really, listen to Jaco, or does she just know he's good?"

Which reminded me of when I met my ex-fiance. She knew I was a fIREHOSE freak, and the second time I went to her house, she pulls out these photos she personally took of the Minutemen playing in a highschool gymnasium.

I had a stroke, seeing real pics of young Mike Watt, and she gave the pics to me, and then explained that it was a sign of her intense interest in me, because, while she didn't actually like the Minutemen or fIREHOSE a ton, she called her pics of Mike her "Secret Weapon" to get good-looking/cool/smart guys to think she was cool and to fall in love with her.

Then I thought, I'd better put Mike Watt in there, the page appeared, and it said "Mike Watt".

Yeah, those are probably the best three. I'd throw Heart and Guns N' Roses in there as well.

What, no love for Skynyrd? :thing:

They're all white guys..........what's up??

It's been pretty well established that the thread starter missed A LOT of incredible musicians. Phil Lynott and Bootsy Collins have already gotten mentions. It isn't a black/white thing, it's a musical knowledge depth and breadth thing.

Heh, I know. It almost gets old. I have to hold back two thirds of my compliments so I don't end up sounding like a starry-eyed internet psycho-stalker who plans on trying to impress her by assassinating Mirko.

What do you mean it gets old? I've never felt that. :cwink:

:D

BTW, Happy Belated Birthday! I'm sorry I missed it. :csad:

A best bassist poll that doesn't have EITHER Les Claypool OR Cliff Burton is pretty highly flawed

ha! i've only seen him play once with J. Mascis from Dinosaur Jr., but he was just pretty much soloing the whole time he was on stage. It was amazing to see him up there in his ratty old flannel shirt and his cigarello hanging out of his mouth, just soloing the s#!t out "freak scene". one of the best live music experiences i've ever had.

Abraham Laboriel's brother was a rockstar in mexico in the 60's. he is a kickass bass player still though.
