Why are racial stereotypes always so...

There's a black guy where I work now, he's huge... 6'10" 280 pounds of muscle. Every time it's his turn to suggest where we go to lunch we end up eating at KFC.

That's actually more of a common occurence as there are too many people in love with KFC nowadays. If he just says any chicken place period, then yeah.

If anything, black people go to Popeye's the most.

It's weird..because..some of the stereotypes are kinda regional. For example, I know "jews" being frugal with money is kinda well known, around me, a stereotype is that blacks are lousy tippers.

Yes, I know I am at times. :o Usually because they feel obligation to tell me I NEED to tip. I don't like being told what to do.

Isn't that one of our stereotypes also? Blacks don't like being told what to do?

Well, most of my friends were bartenders or waiters/waitresses and it's not in their nature or job description to ask for tips, it's kinda not spoken about. But they would groan when a family or group of black people would sit in their section because they knew for the most part that they weren't going to get a generous tip.

White people can't dance, black people can't swim. Each of those will eventually cause you to lose face at some point because someone will always force you to do one of the two, so there. We're even.
No, no no, You've ot it all wrong. Black people dance Better then white people, white people swim better then black people.

^Give some examples. We need excruciating detail.
Bernie Madoff.

Example 1:
My GF is driving to her house and a car full of black men get pulled over. Car is a Cadillac with FLASHY rims, grill, etc. Said 4 black men get out car with pants sagging, shirt 3x too big, and dreads (two). Police search car to find bags of pot in trunk. How many stereotypes of the black race can you find?

 Dreads are a "stereotype"?

Of course they are. When you a see a person with dreadlocks... you automatically assume they are from Japan... duh.

No lies, this is 100% true.

I was driving home from work one afternoon, when a lady turned across the road right in front of me, making a left handed turn from the right hand lane, cutting off traffic across 2 lanes, and cutting in front of 2 more lanes of oncoming traffic.

The lady was a black lady, driving in a Cadillac. Where was she heading in such a hurry? The fried chicken restaurant.

I didn't stop laughing for about 3 days.

A three for one...fried chicken, caddy and woman driver.

My whitest moment ever (and I've had many) was the first time I ever heard some of my co-workers talking about DMX and I instantly started talking about how cool motocross is.

Dreads are not a stereotype in-of-itself, but the hairstyle adds to the stereotype. It's like a chemical reaction. Alone the substances are harmless, but together it can result in a mess. Sagging pants +oversized shirt + doo doo braids = *****FIED.

I would have beaten the **** out of you with my black associates. :o :cmad:

You have to take into account that people of certain races may feel pressured to conform to stereotypes.

Like "Uncle Tom".

I do think stereotypes can be true. If that is not the case, then how did these people and their actions become stereotypes in the first place? You know what I mean?

The ultimate stereotype that I'm most familiar with is the "Essex girl" (don't know if anyone outside of England knows about this?).

That they have bleach blonde hair, nails always done, fake tan, loads of make up, dripping in gucci and chanel etc(or fake gucci :D) big stiletto heels.

I live in the heartland of Essex (Basildon) and you know what? It is ****ing true!!!! They are all over the place! Some of them do carry it well though ;)

You're talking about chavs. Trust me, they aren't exclusive to Essex. I also don't think they count as a stereotype as they are more of a trend like 'emo', rather than an actual cultural denomination.
