Why Do People Stay in Bad Relationships?

Oh, I wasn't trying to ruin your joke or anything. :o

I feel like that's when a laugh track should've started. :o

OP and Everyone: Save your beloveds from their horrible relationships. Go to any length to save them to prove that you are their one and only true love. If it seems like the beast they're chained to has brainwashed them into thinking that they love them, fight all the harder to save them.

Umm.... I'm scared.

Some folks do it for the children or for economic reasons.

But does that mean you're still idiotic?
That was implied by the "growing up" part. The whole "wising up" thing. But yeah, not everyone gets smarter when they grow up either. :o

it's simple really, humanity is stupid and hopeless. a lot of people think they can fix things or help the other person. Or maybe 1 person may want to brake up with the other, but feel to lonely and to pathetic to find someone better in the future because they think they aren't good enough. Fear plays a big factor as well. Fear of loneliness, fear of heartbreak, fear of rejection. Or sometimes those people are just made for each other because they like to be mistreated.

Understand that when I said "People are idiots" there wasn't any implied condescension...

I don't exclude me when I say "idiots".

LOL.

That scene and then cue to...

"So no one told you life was going to be this way. *clapclapclapclap*
Your job's a joke, you're broke, you're love life's DOA... "

I'm good enough. :word: Just a little ugly. :csad:

I think the most common reason can be explained this way; when Spider-Man is swiging, he doesn't let go of one webline until he has firmly secured the next. A lot of people approach relationships the same way. They hold onto this person for dear life until they've found a suitable (not necessarily better or even AS good) replacement.

Now that we've given so many reasons why they stay in bad relationships how do they come out of them?

They don't. They move from one to another.

Sad but usually true. I did this myself for a time. I think that there are some people who have gone into stabling relationships though and find someone they need rather than just the next bad girl or bad boy that they encounter. That's usually only if they truely deal with the wounds from their past experiences with love.
