Why hate FOX?

I won't **** on anyone for liking them, hell I own them all even if I don't care to watch some of them any more. Daredevil DC is still pretty awesome tho. It has some issues but has held up FAR better than the two FF flicks imo

For the record, I do think that Wolverine should be the lead in the X-Men films. He's the most popular and interesting X-Man. But they go way overboard to the point where it is no longer an ensemble, but Wolverine and his friends.

Just look at the first film. Of the four Brotherhood members, he fights three of them in the third act (Mystique, Sabretooth, and Magneto), and is the one that destroys the machine and saves Rogue. Meanwhile, the rest of the team gets to fight Toad. That's just ridiculous.

Storm and Cyclops also fought with Sabretooth. First, saving Wolverine/Rogue. Second, in the train station.

And they probably didn't let Storm/Cyclops fight with Sabretooth because those two already encountered Sabretooth earlier in the movie. Jean Grey also helped Professor X to do that psychic thing to Sabretooth/Toad. Of course they were gonna Wolverine more to do in the final act since it was his first mission with the X-Men.

For the record I still like the X-Men movies aside from XMO,X2 is fantastic and X3 is still at least watchable for me despite killing off Cyclops and other things,I can't wait for DOFP but The Fantastic Four is the franchise FOX completely destroyed, just thinking about movie Doom gives me nightmares.

I always dug X3 more then X1. I expected a half assed Phoenix story so that didn't surprise me. The killing of characters was the only thing that really pissed me off. Otherwise I think its a somewhat decent popcorn flick. Thought X1 was cheap, boring and didn't know how to use most the X-Men or their powers. Ruined a few characters for me itself. I despise Singers version of Rogue. Shes weak, whiney and doesn't contain any of the personality of why she works good in the comics.

That trilogy as a whole is meh at best. X2 is the only saving grace, so much better then the other two. FC and The Wolverine were excellent imo so it's been cool to see Fox back on track. 3 solid X-Men movies in a row would be awesome, and with DOFP it looks like we will get that.

I don't fully agree with this, as I believe the main trilogy as a whole is strong, and I believe that Singer's version of Rogue is very accurate to a particular portrayal in the comic books, it's just not the version of Rogue that became really popular in the 90's. I thought X-Men was really strong, and while it doesn't excel much in the action department, I think it has some VERY strong character moments that acts as a very strong foundation for the X-Men film universe to build off of.

What I do agree with you on is the Phoenix Saga. From the moment I knew that Phoenix was going to be the focus of X-Men 3, I knew we weren't going to get a truly accurate portrayal of Phoenix. And I'll be perfectly honest, I prefer it that way. I'm not saying that it was developed as well as it should have been, because it wasn't, but I believe the creative direction for Phoenix in X-Men: The Last Stand was infinitely preferable to cosmic space entities possessing her body, and clones, and Shi'ar galactic space battles, and eating suns and M'Kran crystals and all that other stuff.

I love the comic world, but sometimes, it really shows that it's a comic book and just does way too much for it's own good.

I agree that the main thing I hate about X-Men: The Last Stand is the deaths of Cyclops and Xavier, and the curing of Rogue. Outside of that, I feel it's a pretty strong movie. A bit underdeveloped, but some strong ideas and what I feel are some truly benchmark moments of the series. To this day, Logan's march up to Phoenix on Alcatraz is one of my favorite sequences in the series, even if that should have been Cyclops.

I always thought Prof X and Magneto were solid in every X-Men film and I do like mometns from Wolverine in X1. But I completely disagree with Rogue. Alots missing there and she is very far off from her comic counterpart. Even in her first apperance in the 80s wasn't she taking down the Avengers and making out with Cap talking **** while she drained him? And I remember her right after she joined the X-Men kicking terroist ass with Wolverine still with the Southern feisty attitude. Shes usually always been a feisty tough as nails chick and her origin as a villain played alot into her character imo.

Her attitude has been there since the beginning, be it from the 80s or 90s. And thats a huge part of the appeal. She's really not accurate in terms of personality or how she got to the X-Men pre 90s at all. Getting rid of that major personality trait and not making her a fighter was a huge mistake and very disappointing imo. They made one of the strongest female characters in comics the damsel in distress without her putting up a fight.

I doubt that will ever happen.Even with a re-cast,Wolvie is too popular. The only way Wolvie won't overshadow the others is if he isn't on the team,(doubtful) or they bring in a write-your-own-check mega star to play Cyclops.(Probably just as doubtful.)

Two reasons I am not fond of FOX:

1. Let's be honest, the X-Men movies should be called "Wolverine and Friends". Every movie focuses on Wolverine. Cyclops, the main leader of the team, was killed in X3. Even in X1 and X2 he was not important. First Class was the best X-men movie to date because we didn't have to see Wolverine go on one of his personal journeys again.

2. They are beginning to copy Marvel. Quicksilver, end credit scene, and now a shared universe? Now, I understand wanting to copy Marvel with the end credit scene and shared universe (I'm not really mad about those things!), but the whole Quicksilver thing antagonized FOX for me.

What shared universe?

And the X-Men films had post credits scenes before Marvel even started making movies...

And Quicksilver is also an X-Men character, so....

Hated what Fox did to the F4, the X-Men have had hits and misses but are improving. I just don't want a crossover between the F4 and X-Men. It sounds terrible. I hope they get the characters right after DoFP by recasting them and put less focus on Wolverine, it's getting to the point that the General Audience are starting to be bored with him.

I'm glad that Fox has made the films they've made so far, but IMO it's better in the long run for Marvel/Disney to control the franchises, for maximum crossover potential.

Comparing the two franchises that Fox controls now, really only the X-Men is the most diverse in terms of potential spinoffs. Several established team concepts exist, and new ones can be created. The cherrypicking of characters from different eras that has happened so far will likely continue, so they might as well continue it.

Over time I'm not sure how many "spinoffs" are legitimately available from FF at this point. I guess Silver Surfer is still with Fox, but Sub-Mariner is back with Marvel, as is Black Panther, and possibly the Inhumans. She-Hulk is presumably controlled by Marvel, and of course the Ant-Man concept is, so the "Fantastic Force" spinoff is out, unless they involve totally unrelated characters.

Ghost Rider (marvel), Hulk (marvel), Wolverine (fox) and Spider-Man (sony) aren't available for the "all new fantastic four" conceit.

As much as I like all the members of the FF, I'm not sure how a straight up solo movie would work out-- I think the Thing would be the strongest candidate, putting him up against a bunch of super-strong antagonists. Of course, the knock would be that this is "the Hulk but with a rock-guy instead." On a fantasy level I wouldn't mind a Torch movie, but who would be the villain(s)?

An X-Men vs. Fantastic Four could be intriguing for a one-off, but it depends entirely on the X-Men lineup and the other creative parties involved. The original comics mini-series involved Franklin Richards, so unless the film wants to push Reed and Sue into parenthood...

This.

Another thing I forgot to mention about FOX. They are so hard to work with. Again I bring up QS. At least Sony is trying (emphasis on TRYING) to get a spiderman in a marvel movie. (Oscorp in Avengers).

Quicksilver is more of an Avenger than X-Men character

He's Magneto's son... I think his X-Men ties are pretty obvious.

X-Men in a Marvel crossover is the last thing I want to see, so this is a good thing that it won't be happening.
