Here's a more accurate picture comparison too. Looks like the same character to me.
Eh, I don't see it. I don't think that character was meant to be thought of as Bob the Goon at a younger age.
Besides, that guy in the first picture was of average height, I think. If I recall correctly, Bob the Goon was pretty short.
I haven't seen the film in awhile.
The thing is I've never really been a fan of the 'Year 2' Joe Chill arc anyway, IMO it was the only thing wrong with 'Begins' - I prefer the killer of the Waynes to be anon; this way every villain and criminal Batman takes down could be that killer... thus meaning he can never stop his crusade.
IMVHO of course.
Honestly not to speak against the holy " Comics Canon " but i've always thought that would make a better concept for The Wayne's Killer.![]()

Okay, this has convinced me. It's Bob.
I think people are trying to compare the two actors' faces, which might lead one to conclude that it isn't Bob. I agree; the actors really don't look much alike.
The resemblance is all in the hat.
I still say that isn't Bob. The cast list clearly said so. Until Burton confirm it, that isn't Bob. The lines & hat don't mean squat. It could be on anyone & it still not Bob.
And who is Lawrence, Mr. Socko? Lawrence Oliver?![]()
That wasn't Bob in the flashback, it was clearly Lawrence![]()
No, it's not. Bob's hat is black.Oh, and on the hat thing, yeah everyone wore a similar style hat. But that is the EXACT same hat.
It is open to interpretation. And if you don't agree with my interpretation, that's fine. I will not stop pointing things out about this film and expressing my opinions with other fans. We are all entitled to express our opinions. I'm not trying to say everyone has to agree with me. To each his own. I'll never understand why some Batman fans refuse to believe that the other mugger is Joe Chill, because there are clues dropped in the film. But it doesn't really matter. It's fun to discuss it. But it doesn't matter. That's how strong this film is, because it still tells you the same story. You can't break this film. That's the weird part. One of the greatest things about this film is that everybody can put in their own interpretation. Tim Burton left things mysterious. Mystery is fun.Dude just stop.
If half of us want to assume it's Bob then we will no matter how many screencaps you post .
This is getting to be a ridiculous argument for something that really doesn't matter anyhow.
You don't think it's Bob..? Fine great.
But everyone is going to interpret the film and it's characters however they want. Regardless what you say.
it may be vague as to if its bob but there is no evidence that it is meant to be joe chill. at all. none. no "clues dropped in the film".
go watch the special features from the latest 2 disc of batman 89. im sure you do in fact own it since you wouldnt make up your mind on the matter without having all available evidence right?
re listen to what tracey says about bob and his relationship with jack napier in the special features. come back on here and drop it cause its pretty funny after hearing what he has to say.
"go check it out."
