Why the Hate for this Movie?

But that's the problem I always see when people try to do the Vegeta hair when dressing up. They gel it too straight where when you look at Toriyama's design, it's teased a little bit so it looks a tad mussed up and separated, not straight back from the head.

Even so, Kami was old as dirt yet he was still green, not pasty white.

Kami wasnt trapped in a jar for years devoid of sunlight.

I've decided to report you to the mods because all you do is follow my posts around with sarcastic remarks yet never bother to actually respond to any of my posts in an intellectual manner.

Nathan, Bullza, Godzilla2000, and I are having an intellectual debate about the movie, what exactly is wrong with that? I respect their opinions and hopefully they respect mine, we all benefit from the discussion by understanding the otherside arguments. So again tell me why you feel the need to belittle my opinion, is it because you have so little to add?

lol. I understand your perspective but, I find it quite bizzare that someone who hated transformers so much could say anything positive about this adaptation which doesn't closely resemble the cartoon.

Tons of teenagers are running around with wilder hairdo than Goku. Or take a look at all those countless Japanse pop groupes. If they can do it, you might think the people working on the movie with several millions at their disposal could pull it off.

Do you really want someone that looks like one of those Japanese pop groups?

Movies, join me...You and I....can defend this movie...... together! MUHAHAHAHA! But seriously, I, too try to defend every gripe with this movie.

Why the hate for this movie? Because they can't even get the little things right. like how hard is it to make Piccolo green?

I can unstand changes being made because they believe they wouldn't translate to the big screen or whatever they always use for a BS excuse but they just made some changes just for the sake of it.

LOL Satanic post count is Satanic ^

I don't feel like explaining Piccolo again.....

Transformers wasn't accurate, but above all it just wasn't a good movie, so the hate is justified. This movie has yet to come out and still has a chance at being fair. No one is praising the movie, just giving it the benefit of the doubt.

Well, if this is the case, why isn't Piccolo blind like most creatures that have lived in dark caves? And just why does lack of light matter to the coloration of a Namek anyway? They're not evolved from plants, they're evolved from mollusks.

Because if he was blind itd make for a silly fight.

I know there not plants but like plants theyd lose there colour with no light.

If Nightcrawler was trapped in a pot for years he wouldn't be the same colour blue.

When a person is weak or ill they go pale.

Just had an hour on youtube and theres a load of videos about Piccolo, all saying the same thing

"Was optimistic, absolutely hates Piccolo, Fox ruined it, there not gonna see it"

So when hate was starting to die down its now worse than ever, people were waiting for Piccolo and now hes out i think theyve completely blown their chance with the fans.

Oh please, it's like this with many films. I guarantee you that there will probably be a handful of people who "hated on" this film but will have a different opinion after seeing it.

Perhaps but those hating on it were still hoping that Piccolo would save it and make it good.

Not only did it not help its made those who were optimistic now unsure and those who were against it but were still giving it a chance the final straw.

Aswell this movie has had more attention than before so all those who just found out about are already against it.

Itll bomb at this rate.

No it won't.

Believe it or not, a character's appearance isn't the only factor in judging the quality of a film.

Not the quality it may be ok, but financially if fans dont wanna see it it'll flop, the majority of DBZ fans say they wont go see it, Piccolo was gonna be the saving grace that we were gonna see that looked really cool and give us faith.

Now hes absolutely dreadful and for fans its the last straw.

It could still redeem itself but the villain is very important and they completely ruined it.

That's your opinion. It's pretty ridiculous, in my opinion, for folks to say they "completely ruined" Piccolo after seeing two screen captures of him. Piccolo is a character (which, surprisingly, is more than just appearance), and James Marsters may portray that character amazingly on film. We don't know yet.

Oh, and a lot of so-called-fans may say they won't see it, but, they probably will.

i won't say that they completely ruined Picollo, but i WILL say that they failed at making an intimidating or unique looking villain....which is what Piccolo was supposed to be.

I don't know, I think he's pretty damn intimidating. But even that should mostly be determined by Marsters' performance.

you're right, performance wise, but as far as staying true to the character, they dropped the ball on that one. Piccolo's appearance was very unique in the DB universe, a design that never really saw a drastic change, Piccolo Damaio and Piccolo Jr. looked relatively the same except for one was young and the other was old and had a kanji symbol on his guy, all the other appearance aspects stayed the same. Now the question is, why would you take a design that stay consistent throughout the series, and give an overhaul beyond proportions? If you were to show a person a picture of the live action Piccolo with out the name being displayed, you would probably think he's a Reaper from Blade 2. It just doesn't look right visually, I'm not knocking James Marsters at all, I'm pretty sure he may have did a fantastic job, but the design team could have done alot better with the characters overall appearance.

How can you tell that from a couple of screen shots?

It's pretty easy to look at something and say, "yeah, that's kind of scary." But, like I said, I think what would really make Piccolo intimidating is how Marsters portrays the character.
