Why the Hate for this Movie?

This movie will definitely get sequels.
Yes this movie will be crap, but since there are so many Dragonball fans out there, I highly doubt it's gonna fail at box office.
 
The movie may not be crap but it just may just be a crap Dragonball film.

I think i know what u mean.

but im not expecting it to be a bad movie though, just mediocre. (especially for a dragon ball film)

i'm not sure y when comic book fans think if an adaption isn't quite up to par w/ the sorce material than it's the worst movie ever. can there be no middle ground between a good comic book movie and a bad 1???

I think the typical fan mindset is "If you can't do it right....go **** yourself"
 
Its a Dragonball film...Just not an exact copy of the manga and anime...They mixed alot of stuff from DB to fit into one movie.

No one really said anything about it being the worst movie ever. It's just the way they're handling the source material that. Look at Watchmen for example. That's what Dragon Ball should have been.

so was everybody's symbols in the beginning. I guess they were just so sick of everything being black and white that they had to color everything when they started the anime:grin:
 
As a person who can't stand the Dragon Ball franchise, I must say that even if it weren't based on Dragon Ball, this film would still look horrible. From the teaser, it looks to be a horrible movie regardless and honestly I think this is gonna flop just like Speed Racer.

People like me are going to avoid this film on the basis it's a Dragon Ball film. Regular film goers will avoid this because it looks bad and has other films in competition that people will go off to see instead (Hanna Montana: The Movie for example). And Dragon Ball fans will probably be pissed off to not see this based on how it looks unfaithful.

This is the one time the Teenage fanbase will be doing some good, who would have thought a year ago I would be routing for a Hanna Montana movie.:csad:

Well, we didn't see the Watchmen trailer and wondered what graphic novel it was based on, since they are pretty faithful to the characterization of the various superheroes from that Alan Moore story. With Dragonball: Evolution, you see Chatwin with that spiky hairdo but you just don't get any vibe from him as Goku. At all. It's the same for other characters, except for Possum's Bulma (although she still doesn't have enough of Bulma's personality imo).

Between this and Poseidon, she hasn't been very selective about the movies she made (although I can understand re: Poseidon because it had a good cast and notable director, just the script sucks). She was amazing in POTO but sadly she hasn't had another movie that really showcase her acting talent.
