I just don't get why they went the Keanu route when they could've spent probably a fraction as much and gotten someone like Daniel Craig or Clive Owen who would've been much more suited for the role.

clive owen i could see. idk about daniel craig, ive only really seen him in the bond movies and cowboys and aliens which was kinda crap.

ive got loooaaaads of possible ideas for actors whod be great in the role.

for starters, paul bettany or david thewlis .

hellblazer103, watch Layer Cake sometime. British gangster/drug dealer movie starring Craig. Basically got what got him the Bond role.

i shall check it out.

speaking of movie recommendations, if you've seen a little movie called naked starring david thewlis, its practically like david's audition for john constantine . he's great in it .

I could kinda see Thewlis in the role maybe like 10 years ago.

well technically, john is actually in his late 50's now in comics. dave is only 48. sooooo.... there's that :oldrazz:

but enough about david. here's a trailer i made to give an example of what paul bettany would probably be like :

I know what you mean.

If you have not read Hellblazer then you can see Constatine as a ok generic supernatural adventure movie but knowing the comic its rather dissapointing.

I would love to see Channel 4 in the UK do a Tv series perhaps co-produced with a American or Canadian network which is closer to the comics.

Hellblazer would work better as a tv show than a movie

Somebody get HBO on the phone.

agreed @ Lord and Avenger. itd be perfect. i always felt the comics had a very episodic feel to them . itd be like house fused with brimstone with a lot of cursing, nudity, etc. of course :P

Most Veetigo comics do, Sandman has an episodic feel too, i'm not the biggest Hellblazer fan so don't become too mad about me but i think that Hallblazer could also work in CW the same way as Supernatural, again i understand if you guys prefer HBO.
Now another thing made me think, i'm also hoping for the Sandman tv series to be made and it could go to HBO, if both shows were on the same channel there could be crossovers, not crossovers just because, crossovers to make good stories, one of Sandman's early issues had a crossover with Constantine whose friend was in the possession of one of his dream objects

i wanna start reading sandman but i have no idea where exactly to start .

I have exactly the same problem with Hellblazer :oldrazz:, but i read some issues and know how episodic it is, if you want to start with sandman that's quite easy, the one i was refering to is the sandman lord of dreams, written by Neil Gaiman, published by vertigo and it only lasted 75 issues because he knew it was time to end.
More information of that comic is here:

The comic is only called Sandman but the main character is the lord of dreams and the story of the comics were incorporated in the mainstream dc universe

ah i see. thanks.

and if you really do wanna start somewhere with hellblazer id say the obvious choice would be original sins.

I'll go from the volumes and wikipedia
from what i see Hellblazer can be easily read like that.
Hellbrazer and Sandman would be great shows to run at the same time on HBO

definitely. itd be perfect.

now we just gotta figure out a way to get HBO to actually do it lol

and to convince DC to make it in that network

And amc from what i see are allway trying to ruin their only successful shows by making them almost cancelled and shortening their budget, because i'm not from the USA and don't have that channel this is just what i hear on the net.
In my country that show would probably end up on Fox like Walking dead did

walking dead didnt end up on fox if i remember . im pretty sure the new seasons coming on amc. but i could be wrong.

No, no, i said that in my country the show went to FOX (from my country) because here there's no amc, and i'm not from an english speaking country so the chanels are a bit different

I heard WB was contemplating bringing Keanu Reeve back for Constantine 2, which would be a colossal mistake. Rachel Weisz was the only thing good about the first Constantine movie (her and Bush's singer Gavin Rossdale). WB has a chance to reboot it and actually faithful to the Hellblaze graphic novels, but I doubt they'll make an attempt to try.

i heard about that too but apparently it never really went anywhere..

honestly though i did like constantine. its what got me into hellblazer in the first place. its just that it had nothing to do with how john constantine SHOULD be portrayed.

peter stormare was ****ing BOSS as lucifer too though.

WB don't think a John Constantine movie closer to the comics can work for some reason which is rather odd.

maybe not for a movie, but i think it better lends itself to a tv show format.
