You do realize you post on a site called Superhero Hype right? Be a little more self-aware the next time you call other people fanboys.
We are all fanboys here...even the girls.

Can't wait to see how Trek 2 opens. Given that the film was a surprise hit (at least for me anyway) and then DVD sales. 2012 is gonna be great.
I think when he/she(not sure who you were referring to)said fanboys they use it the same way I do. I only use that term in regards to the extreme fans that need to calm down a bit. Everyone else(including myself)I just refer to as hardcore fans/comic fans.

I took care to not say that these movies are bad in my opening post. I took care to not say that boxoffice equals quality. I'm not the best writer in the universe but I'm far from terrible.I'm painting in broad strokes here, so bear with me:
The fanboy community were the same people thought there was Venom in Spidey's eye on the Spider-Man 3 poster. So no, they will no learn or be realistic about it without being:
a.) Hyperbolic
or
b.) Convulsively negative.
The ones in the middle (the 'or' in this case) are the one with the rationale and basic reasoning.
I knew Scott Pilgrim wasn't gonna do well BUT it doesn't mean it's a bad movie. There are countless movies out there that have bombed that were good.
lol Thats what Jamie said.Nope, they won't.
Wait, so now people who enjoyed Scott Pilgrim are bat**** crazy? Honestly I have never picked up a Pilgrim comic, but I loved the film, and as someone who loved it I am disappointed that it didn't do better. In the Scott Pilgrim thread I see a bunch of other people who are disappointed.. but I have not once seen anyone who has gone bat**** crazy because the movie didn't have a huge B.O. Nor have I seen anyone who ever expected it to be.Obviously I am using fanboy in a negative way but I am completely aware that I'm a huge geek but there are fanboys and then there are those bat-s**t crazy fanboys who can't tell the difference between their taste and normal people's.
I think maybe there should be a better distinction between the types of fanboys. Hmm..I don't know, the geeks vs. fanboys? I'm just throwing out there![]()

What I do keep seeing is people making overblown posts about how craaaaaazy fanboys are for wanting something they like to be a success.
FanboyA....I like comics.
FanboyB....I live and breath comics.
FanboyC....NONE OF YOU INSEPID PIECES OF CRAP UNDERSTAND COMICS THE WAY I DO SO JUST GO AHEAD AND DIE NOW AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!

This thread is fine. I was disappointed by Watchmen's gross but Jamie was right when he told me that it wasn't going to succeed and I just ignored that because I let my inter fanboy, or girl as it were, get in the way. I have no problem with people being disappointed with the numbers but you were delusional if you thought that it was going to be a big hit or even a little one.1. Everyone in this thread is a fanboy.
2. What is really upsetting is that some are so shocked and unearthed by the fact that people who care about something are dissipointed when that something isn't successful.
3. This thread is perplexing.
I was talking with my friend Kane (a hypster) on Thursday. He was excited for The Expendables, while I was excited for Pilgrim. He said to me that SP will bomb, and I replied "Well, duh.."This thread is fine. Then why are you disappointed? S**t always makes more money than good movies.I was talking with my friend Kane (a hypster) on Thursday. He was excited for The Expendables, while I was excited for Pilgrim. He said to me that SP will bomb, and I replied "Well, duh.."
I'm disappointed because I hoped that it would make more than 10 million dollars. Then why are you disappointed? S**t always makes more money than good movies.
Inception is undoubtedly a better movie than Iron Man 2 and The Twilight Saga: Eclispe but it's looking to not outgross them domestically.

That sounds lazy. I haven't seen it yet but you make me want to check it out.My only comment is that Hot Tub Time Machine sucked. They were so lazy that they didn't even bother to get their pop culture references right...as half the songs played and half the things mentioned had not been released by the time the movie supposedly takes place...and the end...oh that stupid ending. They were clearly going after the 80's retro crowd...and then completely botched the time period over and over again.
