Will Fanboys Ever Learn?

HAHA someone on the Spidey boards is saying Raimi ruined Spider-Man and one of his examples from his long list is that Flash's hair was black in SM1 and it should have been blonde. Raimi apparently ruined Flash Thompson.

This thread should be devoted to the utterly bat**** insane stuff people post on this website. Fanboys ruin movies.
Blind praise and low standards ruins movies. Seriously, think about it.

Oh and italian Flash Thompson did suck.

Wait, Sam Raimi ruined Spider-man because Flash's hair was black? That's hilarious:funny:

What kind of budget are they giving Webb for the new one?

$80 million. And to ensure costs don't spiral out of control, Andrew Garfield's sequel option salary options are far less rich than Tobey Maguire's. Garfield gets $500,000 for the first movie, $1M for a second film, and $2M for a third film.

More like $100-$120 million. Sony was throwing around the $80 M number as a ballpark figure when they first announced the reboot. No way a Spider-Man movie will cost under $100 million and as I've said before, studios always lie about budgets.

i think contracts can change :cwink:

if Garfield would become the new IT boy in hollywood and if he would open movies then i bet they would change it :woot:

Uh no. People who sit in a theatre and nit pick hair color of a tertiary character that was in the trilogy all of 2 minutes ruin movies.

People who nit pick the Bugle's layout in Raimi's movies and say that it looked cheap and trashy ruin movies.

Two examples from the I hate Raimi thread.

Oh god, the ridiculous amount of complaining and nitpicking that goes on in the Raimi-hate thread is insane. Then they go and troll in the I love Raimi thread and it gets worse.

Yeah, a couple of nitpicks completely overshadow the vaid criticisms of the Raimi movies.

A couple...haw. Spider-Man 1 and Spider-Man 2 are highly regarded by critics, fans (the vast majority), and the general audience. But somehow there is a resurgence of bashers that want everyone to think those movies are garbage. It is laughable. They then go to no end to nit pick every little thing they can find.

I find the ones who bash Raimi for making changes but then will kiss the feet of Chris Nolan for TDK to be hilarious. There was even a poster who thought it was terrible that Doc Ock destroyed his own reactor at the suggestion of Spidey and then someone owned a comic that had the exact same plot posted pictures. Priceless stuff.

Indeed it does. And its not a couple. People actually in the hate thread list every single detail on why they hate the films and its insane. But your its your guys thread and I won't go in and defend the film (thought I did stop by to poke fun at NinjaCarm for getting kicked out the Raimi lover's thread).

But whatever valid criticisms there are, they piled under load of crappy excuses and nitpicks for not liking the film.

My biggest problem with Raimi haters is that some of them think that most people hated the Spider-man films (not all) when it's the complete opposite.

Spider-man 2 is the only Raimi movie that most fans consider to be exceptional. SM1 hasn't aged nearly as well and most comic fans acknowledge this on some level. Then you have Spider-man 3 which exposes the problems the Spider-man movies always had.

Say what you will about Nolan but he has yet to make a movie as embarassing as Spider-man 3 and the title character actually acts like the comic counterpart. Peter Parker is socially ******ed and Spider-man is humorless. How can an adaptation be considered great when the title character is a sad shadow of their former self?

Spider-man 1 is ok.
Spider-man 2 is highly regarded.
Spider-man 3 is complete trash.

Looks like there's plenty of room for improvement to me.

I think RT is broken. It shows Spider-Man at 89%. Someone fix it.

So if that percentage were the reversal what would it mean to you then?

To me...nothing at all. I don't give a damn what rotten tomatoes says about anything. There are hundreds of movies I hate that many people love and hundreds of movies I love that many people hate.

A great movie should have high ratings from both the audience and critics.

65% is almost rotten. So obviously the audience wasn't that impressed.

I personally judge movies by what I think about them after seeing them.

I do that too.

But we were comparing how Raimi haters view the Spider-man movies versus the general audience..

The people that I know actually prefer the first over the second. It has aged in areas (I'm looking at you Macy Gray) but that's about it for me. I watch it regularly and it's one of those great, care free fun comic book films. The second I'll watch when I'm in a certain mood. If I just want to enjoy Spider-Man, I'll put in the first one.

In real life, if your friend said a movie was okay, then that's it. But in fandom, it's a different story..

Spidey 1 was a reat feel-good movie.
