At least Bay didn't get Morgan Freeman for Jazz...
interesting. I may not hate you anymore....
I'm gonna go with this guy!

Out of interest what about Chris Judge?
He's done quite a bit of voice work for the X-men evo cartoon and at least one computer game from my knowledge.
Well, Jazz needs to have at least some personality in order for his character arc to be pulled off effectively.
I don't doubt Smith's ability, but will his quite distinctive voice be distracting?
Bay is stupid. They should of went the DMX as Jazz. That would of been a brilliant marketing move, and DMX has a very distinctive and cool voice.
Will Smith, like I may have mentioned, is big time. He's the one you use to bring the big $$ in. Jazz is not the kind of character that you use Will Smith for. It'd be a waste of money. No way is that gonna happen.

For one, I highly doubt Smith would ask for a salary comparable to what he makes as the "star" of any other movie, and he's got a good working relationship with Bay. Big stars do it all the time; show up for a hot minute for a director they're cool with. Sometimes, they just wanna help out 'cause they think it'd be cool. I just saw TMNT last night, and Lawrence Fishburne narrated the opening sequence!! Fishburne might not be Will Smith in terms of star power, but he's big enough that you wouldn't expect him to do something so small where he's not even a character in the film story.
To say nothing of the fact that all we've been able to gather is that Smith MAY have auditioned for Jazz. Not that he's a lock for the role, or anything like that.
LOL. Ya'll might as well just copy and paste a list of every single American black actor.... because that's pretty much what you're doing... but anyway...
Will Smith would make a downright horrible (horrible!!!) Jazz IMHO.
I agree with those that say Keith David would be good (actually he'd be good as almost any Autobot)..... but anyone think that Paul Winthrop (the guy Keith David replaced on City Confidential) would have been freakin perfect as Jazz??? (aside from my pick of Steve Harvey of courset: ).
WILL SMITH WOULD BE GREAT TO PLAY JAZZY-BOY!!!!! CAN SOMEONE SEND ME A PICTURE OF THE CHARACTER THOUGH?![]()
Pffft...Will Smith has never done a role as small as what could be suggested as Jazz's in Transformers...I wouldn't use Laurence Fishburne or any other actor other than Will Smith himself as evidence to the claim. I know that SOME big stars pop up in movies every now and then for some narration work. Heck, think about Joe Pesci's 3 minutes of screen time in The Good Shepherd. It was good, but then again, Pesci doesn't have half the star power as Will Smith does right now. Bringing in a heavy hitter like Will Smith to do at the MOST, 3 minutes of dialogging as a character, probably not even a major supporting role,..I just can't see that happening ONLY ON THE BASIS that I've never seen it done in a MAJOR motion picture. For one, I highly doubt Smith would ask for a salary comparable to what he makes as the "star" of any other movie, and he's got a good working relationship with Bay. Uh, If he was voicing a role in,...TMNT, yeah...Seems more family-oriented. Transformers? No way. It's PG-13. His youngest children aren't even 10 years old...Yūgi's BM;11446196 said:I honestly don't see why Smith wouldn't want to do Jazz, I mean after all he's a family man, no? Do a film for the kids, why not?
