The Dark Knight Will the Batmobile return or be completely redesigned?

Ok, I've read through it, and frankly, you both deserve some time out, however, this seems to have come to an end, so as long as the conversation stays CIVIL and we don't have anymore GIANT FONT attacks and name calling, we can continue this discussion like growed up peoples, right?

Lmao, this may be off topic but I did get a kick out of reading the frustration build with each post till it erupted here.

Back on topic, I agree with you I'd like to see a vehicle with the physical capabilities of the tumbler, but with a little more style. Theres no reason why Batman should need to blow up a street full of cars to get to his target. Batman's all about stealth and the tumbler, even in stealth mode, is not stealthy.

That I agree with.

For all his financial capabilities, it'd make perfect sense that Wayne could come up with a vehicle that has the advantages of the Tumbler but still be something improved upon.

It's just like going from the "BB" suit to the "TDK" suit except with the car.

A matter of evolving and streamlining his arsenal to make it more efficient and work better for him while still retaining the haunting psychological image of a bat or that of an indestructible force of justice that he wishes to portray to criminals.

There's a type of electrified plate armor for tanks (used by the Israelis) that can actually take an RGP hit. Most RPG warheads have copper cores -- what this armor does is literally send an insanely-powerful electrical charge through its armor that will disintegrate an RPG core on impact. Cool, huh?

Here's what I'd love to see in the next Batman film -- a group of criminals/gang leaders are escaping a bad crime/armed robbery scene, and as they're escaping they freak out when they see a new, somewhat revised Tumbler/Batmobile (covered in overlapping black plates, like a crocodile) bearing down on them. They open fire with conventional weapons, whereupon the leader pulls out an RPG and says, "I know how to handle this!" He fires the RPG at the Tumbler 2; the rocket hits and explodes in a fireball/puff of smoke...

The criminals cheer, "Yeah, we got the Batman!"

...and the Tumbler simply shrugs it off, continues to bear down, and emits a HERF (high energy radio frequency) pulse that shuts down their truck engine. Their truck veers across the road, slams into a lightpost, the baddies stumble out...

Whereupon Batman gets out and proceeds to beat the absolute *&#! out of every one of them. Police arrive with the guys trussed up and a note pinned on them saying, "I'll prefer charges."

Note that the armor and the HERF concept above are not only feasible, they exist today. A high-energy pulse can simply shut down a car ignition, and cops are investigating using these to end high-speed chases. (I'd also have the new Tumbler shielded from this so cops couldn't shut it down; its engine could be a turbine inside a copper wire framework, like a Faraday cage, that's protected from outside electromagnetic and radio interference.)

The Tumbler was badass and my favorite batmobile. I'd welcome a return for sure.

The tumbler will return and be much sleeker... but still the same type of shape... as for an air-vehicle... think more in the line of a hybrid between a black hawk chopper and a stealth bomber... a stealth chopper...noiseless, no lights, a virtually invisble craft able to hide in the skies...

We should have a lil competition to see who can design the best tumbler/batmobile hybrid to incorperate all the features people want in and retain all the things they liked about the tumbler. Like the fan manips thing. Could be interesting to see what people come up with (plus i don't think i've ever seen people draw the cars of Batman on here, just the people.)

I think they should bring in a new Batmobile.......The Tumbler looks very good but i don't know why i feel it's not the bat car i like to be.

No...I said Rebuild the Tumbler but make it look more like a traditional Batmobile.

That way it retains the brute agressiveness, power and utilitarian strength of the Tumbler while now bearing a more Bat-Like image that would be used to impact criminals as an instrument of fear akin to the Batsuit.

Yeah, because being chased by a tank, armed with rockets and that can blend into the night isn't scary at all.

The less stuff that are Bat shaped, the better.

I was really upset when I initially saw the Tumbler, because it didn't look like a Batmobile, but it grew on me. I saw a show where they talked about the drastic changes, because this really is the most drastic change for the Batmobile ever, and they explained that the past Batmobiles made sense based on their periods, as does the Tumbler. Think about it. I loved the '89 Batmobile, it had that classic Batmobile look, but could it have taken on a garbage truck? Jumped onto building? Knock down a train? Withstand rocket-fire? Doubtful. It's the new Batmobile for the new age of criminals, it's modern, it's advanced technology, and best of all, it's all feasible.

Also, they can keep the batpod separate no matter what, no reason to completely eliminate it, it's awesome. I mean that truck scene? Legendary. But I wouldn't want it to completely replace the tumbler.

I'd be happiest with what most people seem to want, essentially a newer sleeker tumbler, mostly the same, but maybe with a hint of classic Batmobile.

The Tumbler was my favourite Batmobile but i would love to see something different in the Nolan Universe, something a bit more sleek.

the tumbler is my favourite batmobile.
but i would like to somthing that looks more like a batmobile from comics maybe the batmoblie from the knightfull story. or the 1 that got blown up in hush vol 1

i loved the tumbler, and would have no problems with them wheeling(no pun intended) out another one from storage.

however, if they had to change it, i'd like them to go for a design similar to that which can be seen in matt wagner's batman and the monster men.

it seems like the perfect midway point between the tumbler and the more traditional batmobile.

I wish they had used Alfred's joke from Batman and the Monser Men. I remember it was something like "I surprised you didn't put giant fins on it and call it a batmobile....my God sir are you actually considering it?!"

The tumbler just looked like a giant cow pat.

LMAO!!!

i want a new batmobile, not the freakin tumbler again. i never got used to that thing, its not a batmobile to me. i want something sleeker.

I love the Tumbler but i would be happy for them to bring in a completely new Batmobile for the next film. Something that isnt as big, as Dr Strange said something a bit more sleek.

this is what i'm talking about.......

It goes something like this.

Alfred: I suppose you'll put giant fins on the back to make it a true BAT-mobile.

Batman:...

Alfred: Oh good lord, you're actually considering it.

Rebuild the Tumbler with improved features and of course keep the Lamborghini and Bat-pod.

Well's here what I think. The Tumbler was something that was good for Bruce to start, but now that he has his niche in mind he needs something that would strike more fear. Another Tumbler flaw was the designs that were all over Wayne Enter. and I'd imagine other place. It was meant for military use, designs are everywhere (as Reese showed us). Now that Fox is in the fold Bruce should make something that's sleeker and more powerful. Plus I wanna see a frikken wing coming off it.

Even a small one.

if the "Dark Knight" crew can build EIGHT for FILMING, then Wayne Enterprises can build more than one prototype for the army. that being said, it would be interesting if they improved on the Tumbler design in any way...

Someone doesn't understand the word 'Prototype' also "all prototypes, none in production on any level whatsoever."

i think they should use this to come up with something new for the next one
