Will this be the last one?

there will have to be one more, why set up Dr Curt Conners in SM2 and have him in SM3 without using the lizard, IMO he will lose a limb in SM3 and start to develop the lizard regrowth formula. And rumors that venom is only in the end of SM3 hints to a SM4

The heck are you talking about? Connors already lost his arm. In Spider-Man 2 you can clearly see he only has one arm. And no Venoms gonna die in SM3.

Why the heck would he loose a leg, thats just stupid.

In the movies he's just a scientist.

Live with it.

Not all scientists turn into mad monsters, you know.

an explosion by GG2 pbomb when he is trying to steal Conners technologies, I just think it will prompt the research into regeneration, but it is a little silly.

HEADLESS KNIGHT, why use his name when they could of made up one if they aren't going to develop his character

I ask again, WHY NOT?

It's a nod to the fans, an homage. Just because he's Connors doesn't mean he has to turn into a giant lizard.

i guess but i just really like the lizard

I like the Lizard too.

The thing is, Spider-Man has a LOT of fun villains. We knew from film one that most of them would never be in the movies.

but it wouldn't be the best idea since the whole mad scientist thing has been overplayed with Docter OCK and Osborn

Although I love the live action movies, they could always continue the movie franchise with cgi cartoons. I wonder how successful Spidey would be in this form? After the live action movies making tons of money the way they did people would probably still support Spidey in this form.

that kinda feels like straight to dvd release, although it would be cool it wouldn't get a mass audience. Kinda like the new cgi TMNT

There are no firm commitments to any future Spiderman films at this time, though there is hope. Sony is taking a wait-and-see approach. There's no doubt that this film will do tremendous box office, but Sony will be gauging fan burnout with this one. As has been reported, the budget for SM3 is expected to be in the area of $250 million. To do SM4, the stakes will need to be raised yet again, and that means an even bigger budget. $300-325 million is not out of the question.

Sony will be attempting to determine whether Spiderman as a franchise still has all it's legs underneath it. Make no mistake, they are concerned by the fact that SM2 dropped in total box office from SM1. They'll be looking not only at box office, but also at what future interest the core fanbase and general public will have now that Venom has been introduced. Can the series survive and thrive despite the likelihood of stepping back to "lesser" character villains for future installments?

The fact that each subsequent entry into this series is expected to be bigger and better(and more expensive) is a significant reason why Raimi buckled and brought the symbiote/Venom story into SM3. He, along with everyone else at Sony, just doesn't know for sure if there will be a SM4. So they're going for broke with this one. If SM3 can't bring in at least $375 million with the promise of the Venom storyline and the fx of Sandman, then it's unlikely that anything they could do in SM4 would hit those kinds of numbers. They need to know that for $300-325 million, they have a good chance of making a few (million) bucks on the deal.

We will not hear officially whether or not SM4 will happen until at least a month after the release of SM3, and it may not come until after the dvd is released.

I dont want 4, 5 and 6 movies. Why?

I dont want stupid re-cast, it didn't work with Batman.

Villians? After Venom, nobody will have interest to others.

All storylines will be ended in 3rd movie.

Trilogy is better than eternal serial.

If they make more, Tobey will stick to the end; I saw a interview on TV where he said: ''I was born to be Spider-Man, I can't imagine nobody else acting him.'' Than he was braging about how he must stay till the last movie jada jada(or smt like that)
But then of couse, this is Tobey. He could change him mind:o .

ha! i think not. all story lines will NOT be ended. Why would they introduce Doc Conners if he was never going to be used as the lizard.. i have no doubt that there will be a spider man 4, and it will indeed feature lizard

i think Spiderman 3 will be the last one

but. . .

Raimi will definally make a spinoff for Venom

and his villian will probably be Carnage

(only if we dont get him in SM3)

How would they make a spinoff if Brock dies... the origin is already explained in SM3...

I agree with the previous poster that COnners in there was just homage to the fans... "Doesn't mean he will turn into a giant Lizard" like the guy said... I think they have planted the seeds for future films... but every trilogy does that... look at Xmen... look at Terminator... the matrix... every saga leaves some questions unanswered... I just think these movies will be fine the way they are and should never be touched again for a while... recasting doesn't work... neither does bringing in new directors... you can't top these villains as we all agree... Sony ain't gonna invest another 250 million just to give us a giant Lizard... take a break... then give us Spiderman Returns in 2021...

There are so many new characters, so if this would be the last movie, the sequence would be ruined. The characters would be just shown in the third movie and hello.

I agree with every single one of you who thinks this should be the last one. I also hate re-casts, especially in movies where they have big roles. I don't care if you change the Moneypenny every few movies in Bond, but I can't stand it when great actors are taken away to be replaced by some one who ruins the series. Sony, please don't take a risk with 4, 5, and 6. The teaser for 3 looks kick ass. It has potential to be the greatest Spidey, if not superhero movie yet.
