All apps run in 7..? Or are there any compatibility issues..?

theres some minor ones but most apps work with ease

I have had one issue with an app...but that was updated shortly thereafter.

I rarely use a wallpaper -- having this bright lcd I always go with dark backgrounds (or just pitch black--I know, boring:whatever:) -- but all I really want is a simpler explorer -- I hate Vista's, that's for sure and I keep reading how it is improved in 7 so..

i love the explorer set up, especially the right-clicking feature. i also like how all the windows open for one set can be nested into one icon instead of convoluting the task bar

A,

Yeah, Windows 7 is worth it, and it will streamline your GFX card better as well than Vista, so IMO, I would wait on the card plus the drivers SHOULD only get better, in theory. =)

ComicChick beat me to the punch...I was going to suggest the Student thing. I'm going back this year, and I'm going to pick it up soon as I get .edu address. =P

G'Luck, A,

****, people can't read for ****. I do not live in the US. thank you very much.

ok i put windows 7 on last night and did a clean install because apparently thats better than upgrading from vista. right now i wish i was back on vista because i'm having major problems. for one apparently i'm not the administrator even though my user account says i am. i tried to uninstall vidx which i had just downloaded and it says i can't because i need administrator priveledges to do so. also i lost the ability to use the fn keys. i figure i need to download a driver but i dont know which, could somebody help me out? here is the list of available drivers. http://esupport.sony.com/CA/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNNW130D

i figure thats what the issue is anyway, because i also lost the ability to scroll on my touch pad when i put windows 7 on, but downloaded a driver fixed that
