That is an important saying in Spider-Man lore.

But not TRULY said in this film. Although the meaning behind it is echoed and stated by Uncle Ben.

Is it make or break to have that saying come up at all in the films? Or do you think it would be ok not to have it.

In the original comic, it was never stated by Uncle Ben, but by the narrator.

Also, the whole film is about great power and responsibilty. I like that through the film, he learns it instead of using some sage style words.

Uncle Ben says something similar to Peter, but it's not as in your face. In fact, it's far more like how a parent would talk.
