I never cared for anything about the Ultimate comics. Everything in that line just seems like watered-down 616.

I like aspects of Peter Parker and high school in USM, but the rest kinda suck if you ask me. Especially the villains.

The villains sucked (Hulk Goblin), but the portrayal of a 21st century teenager suddenly imbued with powers is top notch.

But isn't he in the Ultimate universe?

Anyone here good at Physics?

i hope it was just a false alarm...because i like All new Ultimate

It's yet to be confirmed, it could easily just end up that miles is the only ultimate title left and people will feature sparsely. Or could end up starting an Ultimate Team-up book

Ultimate Spider-Man (the comic book) has redeeming qualities to it, especially the earlier issues. I only read everything up to the Venom storyline, then I got caught up in other work and that was that.

Well, many of the villains sucked, such as the "Hulk Goblin," but I liked the interpretation of Venom for example. But you're right, its the portrayal of a 21st century teenager that makes it.

To be fair, the original ultimate line of Spider-Man has some very good stuff in there, and the cartoon cannot be compared to the ultimate comics in any way. Even when there is dumb stuff in the comics, the show just manages to surprise getting dumber each episode

I mean, Electro's strategy is to distract the heros with turning on tv:s and portable videogame systems? And power-man actually gets distracted because he wants to see how the soccer game goes?? just, incredible...

I agree completely. The cartoon isn't really like the comic series at all, they just happen to share the same name... unfortunately.

Yep. Doesn't matter whether you hate the ultimate comics, one just has to admit that the animated counterpart is a disgrace to its name

Although I was mad that Spectacular Spider-Man was cancelled, I at least thought we would get a decent animated series based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. It was Disney's chance to get their hands on Spider-Man and show us how they would handle the character. And they tore him apart.

I for one think they could achieve great things if they owned the movie rights to Spider-Man. The marvel animation department can be held responsible for Ultimate Spider-man, not necessarily the entire company. Disney may own both the movies and the animated series, but you gotta remember that they have very different teams for different areas

And Ultimate's version of Venom is just one of the many villain treatments I can't stand. I just hate the idea of the symbiote now being a suit to help with a sickness. While Spidey is very scientific-oriented, Venom and the symbiote as a whole was refreshing with going outside the box of that scientific-oriented world since Marvel was always this huge, magnificent world anyways much like DC and the bigger world happens to be in Spidey's "world" as well.

No more Ultimate?

Never cared for the universe anyways.
So? It's not like that universe connects to the main universe, it's its own thing
No need to be thrilled for its cancellation if you don't bother with it

Uhmm, yeah, you can ignore it

I don't mind the villains, Ock's tentacles are awesome

I do ignore it.

I ignore Justin Bieber's music but yet I'd still be stoked if he stopped making "music".

Justin Beiber is a talentless musician wannabe, I don't know how he succeeded
Ultimate Spider-Man is awesome, something great should never be compared to something as bad as Beiber's music

Well for starters, I love that they put effort to the origin and actually got an interesting character driven story out of it. I had read a lot of the 616 line before but never the first one (Amazing fantasy #15) and just a few months before that I got into the Ultimate stuff me and my friend read it. And I gotta say, it was really goofy. The quality of the characters, dialogue and the story-telling was like something out of a Donald Duck comic

Of course this is because of the time period it was made in. Still, I for one think that in Spider-Man's origin story there's a lot of potential you can flesh out, and I'm glad that's what they decided to do with the Ultimate comics. The only thing I don't like too much about the early Ultimate comics is the art style

This. The Ultimate Spider-Man did a much better job of setting up Peter's relationship with characters than the early 616 comics did, and went into much mor depth with the origin of his powers (in the 616 Ben was only shown for two panels before being killed off and the spider dropped from the ceiling and accidentally got shot wit radiation waves). And I personally liked the way they portrayed the symbiote in the Ultimate comics.

Lol, well I did compare the two...because that's how bad Ultimate is to me.

So the real redeeming quality is that they just put out an effort to make Peter feel real. Okay, that's cool, and understandable as Ultimate was trying to win a certain demo, but everything else such as the villains...huge failures I'd say.

I'm gonna really try to get PS4 and finally I'll have a PS system that I can play certain games such as God of War, Uncharted, Last of Us.

You won't regret it (I think). Those first two are awesome game series, and since ND is behind Last of Us, I think it's a safe bet to say that one will be awesome as well.

Sony truly has amazing exlusive first party games.

It definitely is for me as well! I love UC3 as much though.

Killzone 2 is another jewel. Killzone 4 looks great as well, I hope it ends up as good or better than 2.
