Wizarding World of Harry Potter

We looked for you, seriously lol. Saw a dude on the JAWS ride who looked a little like you.

The dragon ride was the best. The Forbidden Journey ride made me nauseous!

I rode the dragon ride when it was Dueling Dragons. But it was awhile ago, so I don't remember it that much.

I rode Forbidden Journey 9 times when I was there last week. Loved it!

Dragon Challenge was great too. I liked the red side better than the blue side.

I also had a strawberry peanut butter ice cream and a frozen butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks...even the Hogwarts Express conductor who was visiting the restaurant told me that was mental. :oldrazz:

I ride Forbidden Journey every day before I go to work.:atp:

Supposedly there are some rumblings that Universal is planning a phase II to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Should be interesting to see what they will do in the future.

They should make the whole theme park 45% Harry Potter, 45% Marvel, and the last 10% could be the cookie/candy store in the Dr.Seuss area(soo good)

lol...well, they can't do anything else with Marvel now that Disney owns them, so that's out. lol. But, I don't mind them doing more with potter but I honestly hope they do not take anything away from Lost Continent, I love the way that section looks, the detail is awesome and Mythos is a great restaurant.

Mythos was freakin delicious. HP could take over Jurassic Park for all I care though

I had lunch at Mythos when I was there last week - it was great!

WWoHP was great - but I would hate to be there when the place was super-crowded. The shops were definitely really small and even with the mild crowds it was tough to get around the place. The Ollivander's show was cute, but not worth waiting more than 20 minutes or so for.

But the place was awesome. We were at Universal for 3 days before heading over to Disney, so we used the early entry and took advantage of a rainy afternoon to explore and get lots of pictures. The detail is amazing. Plus the ride was broken down on our last day, but they let us go in and tour the castle anyway - and just when we were at the end of the queue, the ride opened up again so we got to go on it again twice more. :awesome:

I think the only things we skipped at Islands was the stuff at Lost Continent (and when I say we went on everything - that included the Seuss Carousel and the X-Men teacup thing :oldrazz: ). If they could expand WWoHP into that section, I'd be fine with it.

We did the Jurassic Park ride twice, that was pretty fun. It didn't feel terribly outdated.

The ET ride over at Universal on the other hand...that thing needs an update, desperately.

I'd cry if they got rid of JP. :csad:

That said, I was at IoA yesterday and the Forbidden Journey broke down on us twice. The first time we were suspended in the air completely on our backs for a good ten minutes. It was pretty fun. The girls I was with were freaking out. Then the second time they let us ride again and it broke down again. This time we were leaning to the side, which was very uncomfortable. They let us ride a third time after that and it ran smoothly. Still, such a fun ride.

Those rumblings are true.:cwink:

Actually, Universal can do anything they'd like with Marvel as their contract is indefinite. The only change that was done when Marvel was bought is that what Universal pays Marvel now also goes to Disney.

They won't, at least there's no plans of it anytime soon.

FJ broke down once when we were on it. It was right after the Quidditch part just before we moved out of the screen part to the Dementor attack. Fortunately we were facing forward at the time. It started again about a minute later and I was impressed how quickly it just picked back up.

Our last day we were there for early entry, but the ride wasn't open yet due to technical difficulties. Finally they just let everyone tour the castle because they couldn't be sure when the ride was going to start up again. I wanted to get a video of the inside for my sister (huge HP fan) so we went through the castle and got pictures and video of everything.

By the time we reached the Gryffindor common room, the ride was running again, and we got to ride it twice because there was no line.

Well, I remember when the whole Disney deal went down that the contract stated Universal can do anything with characters already in use but not any other characters not used in the park somewhere. Or something to that effect.

But with Disney owning Marvel now I don't see Universal expanding the Marvel Island anytime soon. I would think they would focus on Potter and new additional rides at Universal.
