Just got back. It was fun. I'll give it 7/10

Without Del Toro, there would be no Wolfman movie. He was the one pushing the project forward. Besides...

The reason why this film is getting bad reviews is simply because film critics look down upon horror films I can't think of any recent horror film that has an overall positive opinion asides from Paranormal Activity.

which was complete and utter CRAP :cmad:

Its says at my theater its 102 minutes. Anyways has anyone noticed that In the clip as Hopkins closes the door when he is starting to change. When it goes dark Hopkins eyes get bright white or Silver color. Which makes you think Hum i wonder if he's the older werewolf and if so why did he eat or kill his other son.
I thought it was fairly obvious at that point that he was the other wolf. What I don't get is that it seemed like Lawrence has no memory of what he does as the wolf, but then in the final fight with Hopkins they seemed like they knew each other.

Friday estimates: $9,850,000 *BOM

#1. Valentine's Day $14,625,000
#3. Percey Jackson $9,775,000
What is wrong with people Wolfman should be crushing the others. I mean Valentines Day beating out both shows that people will fallow a flashy light anywhere.

It was enjoyable but it was too short.

Spoilers ahead!

I have a question for those who've seen it.

In the scenes where the preacher was talking about Danial and the Bible. He mentioned the Bible saying somebody becoming "like a Wolf". Does anybody remember who he was talking about? And what chapter & verse he was repeating? Was he talking about Danial?

And another thing. Lawrence father became a Werewolf when he was beaten by that Native American Werewolf boy in the cave. During that time Lawrence was a kid and his father was younger also. But when Lawrence was an adult his father was old and had grey hair. According to Werewolf lore that I've seen in many movies Werewolves age very very slowly. But Lawrence father didn't. So I guess in the Wolfman universe Werewolves age regularly as human beings do. I've actually never heard of Werewolves aging slowly in old Werewolf lore.

I think it depends on how often they change for figure they try and hide from the moon. It i think depends on who's telling the story really on about the Werewolf aging process.
Take Lucian in the Underworld series he looks the same age as when was bitten.

It just shows that Valentines Day weekend is the perfect time for girls to drag their boyfriends to a lame romantic comedy.

I thought it was excellent. The production was simply wonderful; great use of lighting and shadows...very atmospheric and gloomy...top-notch performances all around by the actors.

Watching The Wolfman wreak havoc in downtown London was fantastic! This was easily the most menacing, lethal beast to hit the big-screen in years, imo...

Very happy to hear Del Toro is onboard for a sequel if this movie does good.

Thank you, Universal. Well done.

How did anyone feel about Elfman's score? I loved it, and cannot wait to pick it up :word:

but.......he´s dead

I just came back from the theater, i enjoyed it a lot
I gave it a 7.5/10

It´s hard for me to criticize it, cuz it touches on a big cinematic fetish of mine, the Universal gothic horror movies. This is the kinda thing f***ing Van Helsing should have been. Love the relentlessly dark, foggy atmosphere, the somber tone, being combined with the unapologetic violence of the Hammer movies, and Rick Baker´s fantastic prosthetics. I loved some moments. But what it lacks most is someone for you to be scared for. Neither is Lawrence such a sympathetic character that you feel sorry for his tragic and undeserved fate, nor are his victims, which are mostly random people. Only when
he goes after Gwen in the end
theré´s some genuine fear for the Wolfman´s prey. The most fascinating character, and the fresher take on the curse for me was the Anthony Hopkins character.
He´s the beast who has come to terms with it, preferred to cynically accept his fate rather than try to put an end to it
Not a great movie, but not a terrible one by any means, it´s still an entertaining film, especially if you´re a Universal horror fan like myself.

The extended cut should fix some of the problems in the movie. Like the hasty beginning. Also, the characters will hopefully get more meat on they're bones.

It sucks Hopkins character dies. They like killing Hopkins off for he died in Zorro as the original Zorro. Also wasn't Hugo bitten which means could be a sequel but Weaving maybe the Wolf.

Just saw the film today and really enjoyed it.I give it a 8/10.I enjoyed all the performances and especially liked Hopkins.I loved the way the Wolfman looked and I'm hoping for a sequel as well as a revival of other classic Universal Horror icons.
