Wasn't there a report at some point that said Naschy was going to make a cameo in the Wolf Man movie?

Nah, it was just fanboy wishful thinking. Would have been cool had it actually come true though.

Great stuff, thanks, Darth Elektra!

Has anyone noticed in one of the trailers a quick close up of Hugo Weaving where he's has what looks like torn clothes and claws marks?
As if he was attacked by a werewolf.

I think Hugo end up getting bitten and carries on the curse.

Did anyone notice roughly a month ago, Variety reported that editors Mark Goldblatt and Walter Murch were hired to recut The Wolfman? As if switching composers isn't bad enough, they have to completely recut the movie?

Unbelievable.

To potentially then go on to carry out the murders in London attributed to Jack the Ripper or is Aberline there as a result of the murders, thinking there's a possible connection?

Yes, we noticed. Goldblatt and Murch as uber editors though - I've no problem with them getting their hands on the movie.

Now, i am starting to like the idea...

The ripper murders being committed by a werewolf is an interesting idea. But, there's a lot to the original story of Jack the Ripper that would have to be explained away for that idea to work. So, until then I will remain ambivalent.

Yeah, it's a cool concept, but it'd take the mother of all creative licenses to work.

I have faith in this movie, even though its release window is not exactly enviable. Joe Johnston is a very capable director, and I think it's very cool that they are relying mostly on prosthetic makeup and making minimal use of CG for this movie. Maybe if it does well, Universal will give us the ultimate Dracula remake to remind all the Twihards what a real Vampire movie is like. ;)

Man, I feel exactly the same, TS.

Exactly.

Amen to that!

I never doubted Johnson at all. If anyone doubts his directing ability watch October Sky. He's probably the best director to come out of just the special effects area. He can do some great action, but if he can do something more character driven like October Sky, then it's fine by me.

I do think he's been more successful than some of the best in the 'longevity' department. That includes the guy who directed Die Hard and Predator. That guy went down hill like crazy.
