Helming the Thomas Crown Affair or Rollerball remakes didnt exactly help McTiernan's cause.

He got a lot of heat for Last Action hero too.

Zak Penn's only good movie, I think.

Maybe he wasn't really involved in the final product, I guess.

The premise of Last Action Hero is great - shame many critics and the audience missed that it was a parody.

This movie has been rated R for 'bloody horror, violence and gore'

It never really looked like it was going to be PG -13 to me?

Don't put it past Universal, TAC.

Needless to say, I'm very happy that The Wolfman get's to keep his cherry-chungas.

Why was there such a big fuss on the departure of Mark Romenak from the directing job on Wolf Man? As far as I can see on IMDB, he is no loss whatsoever. He hardly has the credibility to prove he would have made a good Wolf Man movie anyway.

If anything, Joe Johnston stepping in was a blessing. The guy has a pretty solid body of work.

Excellent news! This made my night!

My question though is, if they just brought in new editors a couple of weeks ago how are they already finished editing? Is this the final cut or will another edition be presented before we have the final product? Time will tell I suppose.

The only movie I know Johnston directed was JPIII, which is better than The Lost World to me.

Yeah i thought JP3 was way better than the Lost World no where near the first one but it was a fun movie, this movie looks really good despite the problems it had during production plus it's rated R so you know they didn't hold back on anything. I'm really looking forward to it.

Either they have tons of faith in this, or they're just tossing all there chips in when they have nothing in their hand.

To me it looks good. The first Mummy good. So, it'll be a fun time in the theater, and one I'll be looking forward to. With that I hope its a great success and new versions of Black lagoon, Dracula, and Frankenstine get made.

I really don't see how this could be even remotely great at 80 minutes long, but the cast is too good not to see at least once.

That's always been debatable to me. But I've seen both at least 50 times (huge JP nerd here) and I gotta lean towards TLW. It's essentially JP3's storyline (rescue mission to Sorna) with more drama, better lines, bigger body count, a villain, better fx (somehow...) and more interesting characters. JP3 was a fun throwback but TLW, for all its faults, was a pretty solid sequel.

A movie doesnt need to be a 3 hour epic to be great. Its all in the storytelling and the acting. Be optimistic. Look at the original Universal horror movies. They were all short and are still some of the best horror films to date.

The original universal Frankenstein was 71 minutes, Dracula was 73 minutes, and the original Wolfman was 70 minutes.

Maybe Universal wants to use a formula?

Nahhhhh... who the hell knows...

It's 80 mins! Well, looks like I'm going to wait for it to hit netflix. The amount of time isn't worth 8 dollars at a theater.

Yeah, I'm not too happy with the runtime either. These days I think it's just not possible to pull off something like this with this runtime. I wasn't hoping for two and a half hours. But at least a hundred minutes.
